So, do you see the glass half-empty or half-full?

Personally, it depends on the situation. If it's a time when I see no way out and I know there's no hope that things will improve, I become pessimistic. However, if I see a silver lining, even if it's small, I immediately try and show everyone that there's hope :)

I find that I am an optimistic pessimist. In that, in order that I might be pleasantly surprised, I think negatively, but I dont' believe it in my heart.

I'm an optimist because I fear no amount of hardship, and I put myself under a great deal of pressure because I can and always have been able to handle it, whatever it is.

On the other hand, I get really down about my problems and come off as very pessimistic because until I achieve my great successes, i have absolutely no reason to believe that my whole life won't fall apart like a one of those chess games that's held together by a series of pins. One small break in the position means... Well, I'm sure you've seen that collapse.

I'll third that. If you're filling the glass, it's half full; if you're drinking from the glass, then it'll be half empty.

Depends on the situation, if I am cheerful and happy i'd see it half full maybe even full. If I am sad, down or sick I'd see it half empty. Now, I see my cap of hot chocolate half empty. *sniff*

I even manage to convince some people I am, but then I start joking about really bad things by pointing out the advantages they offer and it's like I'm the only person who sees the greatness of these things if we're doomed to the bad thing anyway. They're all saying stuff like global warming's gonna suck, and I just point out about all the money they'll save on heating bills! Maybe I'm just sadistic, I dunno...
