Anyone who's ever played Mario Paint should recall the bizarre melody that plays when you click on the "O" on the game's title screen. What gamers are gradually discovering, though, is that the game's sound designer, Kazumi Totaka, has been hiding that same tune deep in a number of games for over a decade now.

It's actually kind of disturbing that he was able to do this for so long without the public becoming wise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLMAgcGA8Dw) to it, and since there are still many games on his résumé in which the song has yet to be uncovered, the search continues even <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBO8EZSNH3A">now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biLfTqQA5T8).

Wow that is insane. Yet so oddly genius at the same time.

That's really cool. Surprising, too. He's kept it up for an awful long time for it to just now be getting found out.

Almost every game that KK took part in, contains that song hidden somewhere.

There is even a rumor that the song might be in Wii Sports! lol but I can't find it. lol its probably well hidden XD

That is most interesting. I wonder if any other video game contributors have done the same thing, and simply have not yet been "found out"?

Pfft, not as cool as the conspiracy that Michael Jackson composed Sonic 3's sound track. This is still pretty cool though...

I heard about it like a couple of months ago, but unfortunately I never heard the song myself in a game.

I don't think that's very fair to say. You see...wait a minute...

Oh, you're 17. I forget that teenagers that were one a year old when video games started to truly take off know everything.:rolleyes2

Actually Im 14, I couldnt change my age for some reason. And I used to play a lot of games but its my personal opinion that I think it is stupid to use the same tune over and over.

You have the right to your opinion, but it irks me when someone of a younger age labels anything that they didn't exactly grow up with in a negative manner. Saying something is "gay" irks me even more. Not because I think it's wrong to use as an insult or anything, but because it just sounds so juvinille and immature. Then again, you are 14.
