Can some one help me?

I am new to Final Fantasy that is why I didn't know that leveling was important. I was with Vaan at level 8 most of the game. It was hard winning and I had to repeat about 5 or 6 times till I won.

Now however nothing seemes to work. I am at the part where I get Princes Ash out of the cell. I did that but now I have to go back and fight with the Judge and no mater what I did or spells used I cant win:cry: . I have read some where that I have to level up. now I am 12. how high does my level have to be before I can easily defeat him and what kinds of spells and weapons that can help me? are there any kinds of spells I can get at this point of the game?

From what my friend told me who beat the Japanese version of the game (lucky), He said that early in the game, it's best to level up as much as you can because later, i guess, you won't have too much time for leveling. Now i just started this game the other day and i just finished the first "mission", so to speak. If you would like some more help on where you're at, i suggest going to gamefaqs and look at thier walkthrough.

What Judge? Judge Ghis or the two judges?

Quickenings pwned both of the battle. Use it and the Judges will die a horrible death. You can get Quickening in your License Board, btw.

You may need to level up or more likely, get access to the Quickenings. Use the convenient alarm traps to summon enemies to you, try not to get overwhelmed, so watch and make sure your characters don't accidently trigger the trap again until after you kill the first wave of guards.

The real point is to build up LP so you can purchase the Quickenings for at least three characters. Once you have three quickenings. Go back to the cells with the save point. Practice using the Quickenings until you can get the jist of how they are used. The save point replenishes your MP so take your time.

When fighting Judge Ghis, try to lower him to a 2/3 of his health or even better 1/2 his health. You'll want one character to be a dedicated healer, one character helping Vossler pummel away at Ghis and one character doing "crowd control" by keeping the other two minions from attacking your healer or your two main fighters. Once his health is to the prescribed point, access the quickenings and make sure you target Ghis so he takes maximum damage. Hopefully you can build a long chain and activate a Concurrence (a special attack that hits the target and everything around them for extra damage) you'll know when you see it. That should pretty much kill him. If he survives, kill off any surviving grunts and switch to one character to act as the dedicated healer. Set the rest of your parties gambits to attack and just moniter their health and heal. Try to keep the healer away from the melee so they don't get caught up in Ghis' magic spells.

Hopefully this will work out. Just build your party appropiately for the strategy or try your best to compensate in case of lack of funds. I wouldn't suggest grinding to get cash though. The guards drop pitiful amounts of gil and you'll go mad trying to get enough to buy that one weapon or piece of armor. Only do it as a last resort.

Did you find the moogles near her jail cell ? They have some nice armor, buy it if you have the gil.

Level 13 is fine. I was level 20 and kicked his butt like he was a mere Eastersand wolf, but that sapped the challenge out of it.
