What's a difficult, but not insanely hard challenge for this game?

Maybe a "defeating the game in less than 16 hours" challenge should be hard enough.

How about try and be the lowest level possible and only get exp from boss battles...

already done

and with my challenge, you could try either no magic or abilities, or just no magic and abilities. Ultimately, i think the no magic would be harder, since by endgame, a good amount of your party relies on magic.

I know this thread is 2 month old but anyway

Play the original version (SNES or chronicles for PS) instead of the kiddie GBA version, much harder than any of those challenges

So how's the GBA version "kiddie" exactly? Please elaborate.

I'm interested too.

I don't know about the GBA version, but the PS version is based on the Japanese "hardtype" and is considerably harder (mostly because the monsters attack hard and fast) than "FF2" for the SNES. I'd be very surprised if FF4A is easier than "FF2", which is pretty much a cakewalk.

Or you could try Zeromus without a healer using the GBA version. There's nothing kiddy about that. And you can't do it in the original.

I always thought a no buying challenge would be fun for a final fantasy game.

I thought advance was based on hardtype too...or am I getting confuddled? :kaodizzy:

try beating zeromus with only EDWAD!!!!!!!! meaning killing off all the party members except him.
note: this only works in the GBA version.

No, the FFIV Advance version is easier than the original SNES version. I've played both.

And WTF are you talking about Frostwake? In another thread you whined how hard it was... and now you call it a 'kiddie' version.

Sounds like a coverup to me.
