Zalera rocks!

I've said here Espers are useless in FFXII. I take it back. With Zalera's "kill" it gets so easy to pwn regular fiends it's even funny. It only gets dicey with undead foes who are imune to kill. Plus he is cool in a creepy "crypt keeper" sort of way.

Anyone else here a big fan of it ?

I haven't gotten him yet, but I found a video of him on youtube and it was his limit. That scream was psycho.

I just am not using any Espers at this point, but I thought Zalera looked cool that one time I summoned him on accident.

Zalera sucked, my least favourite Esper. I admit he looked cool but he's way too weak, I found Exodus, Zeromus and even, Adrammelech more useful than him. Not to mention, most monster late in the game are immune to death.

I haven't played this game yet (considering I get it tomorrow), but he looks cool. Problem is, programmers always put a summon or similar into a game where they aren't useful anymore, or their uses are limited. =/

I got Zalera last night. I couldn't believe how extremely easy that battle was:eek: But I hadn't had a s chance to summon him in Battle though

Don't use him against undead, cause most undead are immune to "kill" and "shock" his regular attacks. But they do get pwned when he uses Holy or the cool special attack :D

With Zalera those Baknamy that gang up on you on the Necrohol of Nabudis are mere flies to be swatted away :D:D:D

Nihopalaoa is the best accessory! You just have to remember you have it equipped and not try to use an X-Potion on your allies. And combining it with a Remedy...You will be dealing out a steady stream of PWN all the live long day.

It doesn't just invert potions, it inverts ALL items.

So: If you use an Antidote (an item that removes Poison), on a character while you're equipped with the Nihopalaoa, they will be inflicted with Poison.

So, what do you think a Remedy would do? It removes almost, if not, all negative status effects. But if you used the Nihopalaoa, it would INFLICT almost, if not, all status effects. The only exception is if the target is immune to all negative status effects.

I don't understand why he's Undead in the battle and then, when he's your Esper, he uses Holy to heal himself.

Mateus is pretty and has a cool looking special attack but gets pwned so frequently I don't use it anymore :rolleyes2

I like my summons powerful :p

Just got it.. Don't like it so far. Too expensive to summon (need 3 bars, right ?), it's lower attack is weak and you have to wait too long for it to do it's special attack

i hvae zalera and quite a few other summons but im yet to use any of the. i dont know why i just havent been in a situation where i thought i might need one yet. but we will see.

I summon them whenever I wanna hear the music or don't wanna fight through an area. So far I have six summons: Belias, Mateus, Shemhazai, Zalera, Adrammelech, and Exodus. The only one I really have a problem with is Exodus. His Deathblow is so hard to trigger! And Shemhazai doesn't deal as much damage as the others, but she's pretty good.

Also, if you don't know where to summon them, find a place that has lots of monsters that give lots of EXP, and summon. You get double the experience. Combine that with the Embroidered Tippet, and I bet you'd be gaining levels in no time.

Yes they are.

But I think that Zalera's Deathblow is pretty pointless.

Deathblow = Esper's Finishing Move

Condemnation = Zalera's Deathblow

I think it's pointless because he'll only perform it if the enemy has less than 30% HP. Why didn't Squeenix just make it where he'll perform Condmenation when enemies in general are around. Does that make sense?

And to trigger Exodus's Deathblow, Meteor, he has to be under Immobilize status and have enemies around when his summon time has 10 seconds remaining. Your timing has to be perfect if you want to trigger it.
