Here's what I think about Santa: he's a cruel creation. As soon as the kiddies find out he doesn't exist (which happened early for me, in Grade 1, when my jerk of a classmate - the same guy who told me about sex at around the same time - told me) it just upsets them.

Why lie, and create something that in the end can be quite upsetting for young children? I think it's a pretty pointless charade. Personally, when I'm a father, my family will celebrate Christmas, but I'll find a way to aviod Santa with my kids without making them ruin it for other children who actually do believe in him.
