Ok. I'm not crazy, am I? Mateus IS a female, right? Right?!

I've seen a hundred times people referring to Mateus as a male. Him or her? Which is it?

Am I blind? I could have sworn that Mateus has breasts.

"Scion of darkness ruling and protecting those who live in the underworld, in opposition of Lahabrea, Abyssal Celebrant and scion of light. In the course of his rule, he submitted to avarice, and the darkness took his heart, transforming him until he was both evil and corrupt. Then in his cowardice he bind a Goddess of the Demsne of Ice, and using her as a living shield, he challenged the gods. Defeated before their might, he fell screaming into the depths of hell , there to be imprisoned for eternity."

The part where it mentions a binding to a Goddess makes me believe that the image you see is the Goddess and not Mateus himself.

But who knows.

That helped quite a bit. Thank you! : )

Haven't gotten thus far just yet to be getting him/her. Damn you, Elder Wyrm! What happened to Treants being all nice? Traitors!

Yeah, the ice goddess is strapped to the front of Mateus, and isn;t actually him. If you look at Mateus's spear, you'll see hands holding it, which can be assumed, are his.

Mateus is male, as said above. I love the way he looks, and his story, they're great. Does the summoned version of Mateus have an actual body though? Or is it just his hands?

It does have a body, a butterfly like body.

Hmm... Still a bit off. Like Shemhazai. She/he's a bit off-color in the gender area too.

The dress the ice goddess is wearing kinda looks like the dress Paine wore with her Lady Luck dressphere.

Actually, Shemhazai is female. You can't really tell from looking at her, but the description (which I am too lazy to track down at this time) calls Shemhazai a 'her.'

"Scion that is both horse and woman, wielding utter control over the souls that wander the underworld, in opposition to the Martyr Igeyorhm, scion of light. Though she once served the gods as a guardian, when Ultima announced her rebellion, Shemhazai went to her, whispering of the gods' hidden weaknesses. She then descended upon the land without leave of the gods, and taught men of destruction and evil. For this she was stricken down and bound."

Female not only by description, but form. If you look at her legs and arms, she is petite enough to show signs of femininity. Although some males are petite in form, Shemhazai just has a completely feminine appearance.
