Have people ever said you'd do well, or be perfect in a certain profession?

This thread was inspired by something that happened today, we were talking in the car, and my mother's boyfriend randomly said "You know what Brennan is going to be one day? He's going to be a diplomat, because Brennan has no problem going up to someone with a smile saying "Ok, we have no reason to fight. Lets just all get along. No war, ok? But if you start anything I will tear your smurfing head off and shove it up your ass.'"

I realised he was probably right.

Discuss.

P.S. Yes, we are dysfunctional. No, my mother's boyfriend is not a bad guy, he has a colourful sense of humour and that is all. He treats our mother and me well though we tease each other. It's what we do.

Yes, I am saving money for therapy.

all the time...usually it's the whole "you're tall...you should be in the NBA" though i'm only about 6'5 or 6'6 and therefore would be dwarfed by most nba players ...anyway, i'm actually good at customer service, and a friend of mine got me a job in the vip department of a casino a while ago....i was perfect at it so i guess he's a good judge of character

My best friend's mother once told me that I would make the perfect lawyer, because I can argue just about any cause and come out on top. I am not sure if she was giving me a compliment or insulting me. Plenty of my friends tell me that I should go into teaching, because the amount of passion I can have for a subject that interests me is astounding, and the meticulous care that I would have while teaching is almost equal to the passion. And they tell me that I would actually care about my students well-being and future. I guess those are good things.

People also tell me that I would make an excellent psychologist.

I have, at one point in my life, looked to each of these professions as a possible career for myself, even before the aforementioned people said anything about it. However, I do not think I have what it takes, for reasons related to self-esteem.

Good to sell things because I am "good" at convincing people (they say  ) and to be a nurse because I care too much (and that's what I'm actually going to be )

People constantly tell me I'd be a good professor or high school teacher. I love to explain things (often pedantic things).

And Lunar, I'm not exactly sure whether I find that erotic or disturbing.

Someone once told me I should be a university lecturer. Perhaps it's because I usually smell of whiskey and smoke. Still, the jackets are rather spiffy.

Yeah, apparently people said I should be a good lawyer, but I neither lie, nor argue well.

I got told I would be an excellent choice for a diplomat as I would simply walk in to the room with the foreign dignitary and state "Look we can do this two ways, peacefully accept the deal on the table by us and look like our lap dog. Or we go bomb the :skull::skull::skull::skull: out of you, kill thousands of your people and make you look like our bitch then we come back here and offer you an even :skull::skull::skull::skull:ier deal than now, whats it going to be?" This was actually a History of politics teacher who said it and verbatim quoted from her. I liked that teacher she knew me only too well. :D
