Oh my god I just met Gilgamesh and I am still dumb struck by the sheer awesomeness!
The song, the theme, the bridge, the quirky character its all there and with one more addition a faithful companion Enkidu! Fly at them now Enkidu fly! Go now I said Fly! Of course these two characters the headstrong and blissful Gilgamesh and the beast like untamed Enkidu are a Mesopotamian mythology dating back to the ancient city of Sumeria. Which is pretty damn cool because i love history and furthermore I LOVE GILGAMESH
From the rest of my people hear can I get a fanclub CHEEEERRR for the great GILgamESHHH!!...

I just finished the second fight about an hour ago. He was a bit of a push-over until the very end of the fight where he started hitting me seven or eight times in a row. >_>
Got all genji gear, too. That was fun.

Do your children grow up surrounded by large amounts of FF-ness?

But on the subject of Gilgamesh, is his a hard battle? I was going to do his hunt, but did the Belito hunt instead (That was fun).

The first battle is easy... The second I don't know yet, still getting pwned by the bats and skeletons on sector 11 :(

Not at all hard in fact one of the easiest boss to defeat. Its his final attacks you want to watch out for. It does massive damage and could wipe your party out in a single hit if your not prepared so keep a healer out at all times.
Renmiri you must be very proud I can think of no better influence then the final fantasy story's, thats why I always try to get my little brothers into the story's but I just cant do it Ill have to wait until they learn how to read. :moomba: Tho they do like kingdom hearts and that makes happy.

So just out of curiosity... if he was a pushover... what level were you :)
And if you want details(the one asking).. well.
He hits for around 3000, 1400 with protect, maybe less if you beat the game and got better armor, but I did it close to the time of getting it... He is immune to all status effects, and he likes to protect/shell/regen(or haste.. can't remember) his dog. He has some special attacks that can do up to 4000~ damage(Monarch Sword.. I think). He also can vary alot during the fight.. at some points I was tossing phoenix downs left and right to keep people up because he was 4hitting everyone who stood up... and at other points he'd just kinda stand there lagged a bit it seemed or maybe it was me.. and then other times he'd chain the status spells a bit. If he puts his mind to it and gets on a good rampage, he'll demolish your tank if he's got less than 6000 hp.
So...
1400/2900 hitter protect/none.
Able to combo up to 5hits at least(5 kills my guys so.. maybe more)
Does multi-target level based sleep/disable and sometime else.
Has a special attacks that can hit for 4000~
He's an Antlion with more HP, more chain hits, immune to status effects, and inflicts his own status effects.. basically in my opinion.

And cheats with his immune to both physical and magical attacks shields!
I got the cocky SOB eventually but took me ages and almost my whole cache of Phoenix Down!

On a side note, I expected the genji stuff to be spectacular.. but its not that much stronger than the armor I already got... hmm
It was similar in FFIV... is the Genji armor set just not supposed to be that grand and I missed it?
In IV it had a weakness to lightning too... Kain wore it and everytime a lightning spell came by he lit up like a christmas tree for four digits of damage.

Gilgamesh wasn't too hard IMHO. But I didn't use the book until later in the game when I got stuck and did the main storyline first before doing all the sidequests and hunts thus I was at a higher level already which probably helped out. I know when I fought Vayne my main character was already Level 68. So I must have been in the 70's already when I fought Gilgamesh.
I love in the end when he gets beat he sneaks up and tries to get his sword back, then runs off. What a tool! LOL.
