My only stylus that I have left for my original, not lite, DS is chewed up and keeps slipping out of it's little socket on my DS. I need to buy another set, but I need to know something: Will a DS Lite stylus work and fit into an original DS stylus socket?

It won't, because the Lite's stylus is longer and thicker.

While not reccommended, I have used retractable mechanical pencils as a stylust for my DS The edge of it is round enough to not scratch the screen, but there's always the risk of it happening. There are other kinds of styluses you can buy for the original DS as well, but if all else fails you can use a mechanical pencil (or a PDA stylus, or a DS lite stylus... anything. a Pencil is just more practical outside the DS' uses.)

It just won't fit into the DS.

The mechanical pecils that go clicky clicky and the thing comes out of?

Personally I'd spend the few bucks and buy a nice PDA stylus. After Elite Beat Agents kept giving my hand a cramp while playing, I switch to a stylus about twice as long and it's worked wonderfully. The only caveat is that it won't fit in the DS, but there's always jeans pockets or whatever, so carrying it around isn't a problem.

I use mechanical pencils most of the time, I have no problems with them, although they're probably not the best for the screen.

Use this as an excuse to upgrade to the DS Lite.

You'll thank yourself.

no way. pretty blue DS ftw! and gameboy advance player ftw. But yeah I think I'm going to pick up the pen stylus.
