Who's your favorite figure from the history of humanity? It can really be anyone, but I'd say as a guidleine those who you might learn about in a history curriculum would probably work best.

I'll say Isaac Newton or Martin Luther King Jr.

Out of all the figures I studied in history, I found Hitler the most interesting. Not that I like him or support his ideas or anything, I just found him interesting.

I second that, also Genghis Khan.

This fella named Zhou Yu from a period of Chinese history known as the Three Kingdoms is by far my favourite.

He was one of those perennial underdog/loser types. As a master strategist of one of the three kingdoms, he was ultimately bested by his equivalent to another Lord and died a bitter man.

I really dig his story of eternal struggle.

Hmm well there is a LOT of people in history, so by saying favourite person in history a lot of people could simply name their nan or something, but famous person in history? Oh god theres a LOT of them too.

I go with Marylin Monroe or maybe Sun Tzu who wrote the art of war, would love to have sat down for a discussion with him.

You'd need to be more specific... Era? Profession? (War... Art... Human Rights... Women's Liberation... King?)

But I guess...

Che Gueverra
Edgar Allen Poe
Jackson Pollock
Sherlock Holmes (yeah yeah I know he's not real...)
Wilfred Derome
Anne Currie
Elizabeth Bathory
Sir Izaac Newton
Mohommad Ghandi
The Dali Llama
Audrey Hepburn
Charlie Chaplin
Jack the Ripper
Fortunatus Fidelis
Aristotle
Jean Beaudilliard
Oscar Wild
Kurt Kobain
Elvis Presley

I'll stop there.

A decent quote from MP, people.
I like De Valera and Michael Collins, neither figures many here would know, but ones i've put a lot of effort into researching.

Hmm, that's a really good question. I don't really know who my absolute favourite is, but I've been more or less fascinated by the following:

- King Henry VIII and his wives
- Adolf Hitler
- Tsar Nicholas the 2nd
- Marie Antoinette
- Homer (mostly his stories, though)
- Jeanne D'arc (sp?)
- Van Gogh
- Leonardo Da Vinci

... I'm sure there are more, but those were the ones I could think of.
