These guys really have impressed me in the year 06'. Through the majority of the summer i listened to them the whole time. Their music style is really authentic and distintive, which can alot of times be hard to pull off, but i think they do with flying colours.

I'm unaware of the Kooks being anyway big outside of the UK & Ireland, so if anyone's wants to listen to one of their songs, they can do so by clicking the link below.

So, what do you all think of The Kooks?

Aw crap, I though you said the Kinks for a second.

*grumbles and then gets You Really Got Me stuck in his head.*

I can't say I'm a Kooks fan, but their music is generally quite inoffensive. Unfortunately, the big singles from their album have been so overplayed that it's hard not to reach for the radio dial when they start up. Much like the Kaiser Chiefs' big hits last year, it's hard not to get bored with a song when you've heard it played to death.

True, it is overplayed, but i tend to hold a song in the esteem of when i first heard it. I think the Kooks have genuinely good songs, and a great album at that.
