Did you propose to her at Princes Street after she explicitly told you not to or am I misreading something there?
:D that's awesome and I'm super happy for you two :)
She said she had no idea. She was actually disappointed at the lack of me bringing out chocolate for a moment, apparently! I had a Snickers bar, mind you. Which I ate afterwards. She was not impressed, as she hates Snickers and I had nothing else. xD
Congratulations. If it was any other girl I'd say she was onto you and trying to make it difficult. But I think that is just Danielle being Danielle hahaha
bassnectar?
Oh, Adele and Duffy are/were very big over here. They're nothing new to me and Adele regularly tops the charts. They're okay, but not something I get excited over. Duffy can drag on a bit, although that's perhaps because Danielle played her songs too often. I never liked Warwick Avenue at all. Adele... hrm. I know she's good, but just... again, too slow for me. I need something faster, I think.

D= Based on your taste that I know, I would almost say to start with the newest album (which you may not have) Year of the Black Rainbow. It has a lot of electronic influence. One of the producers, Atticus Ross, works with Trent Reznor pretty often. Actually was teamed with him for The Social Network soundtrack. Otherwise, a good introductory album is Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (usually called Good Apollo 1, lol) because it has a very heavy classic rock influence, multi-layered songs. It is at once the "angry" album but also the one with the most ballads. If you pick this one for your first, I would recommend you listen to it in reverse order. The last song on the album is this amazing blues driven jam. But there are also a couple of good ballads. If you don't already listen to Seether I think you should. Because they're also awesome. Do you listen to Kenna? Definitely an electropop performer, but his songs are very emotionally driven, very powerful. I love them. You should already be listening to Adele. lol. You take all the good parts of Amy Winehouse, multiply them by infinity, and erase the bad. I put them in similar genres, both sing R&B, but Adele is the most amazing vocalist to come along since Jennifer Hudson. Also, if you like what you hear, listen to Duffy! She's adorable. Listen to the new Alice in Chains. I'm serious. It's pretty great. And if you really want to channel foa, look up a band called JJ Grey & Mofro. Especially the Country Ghetto album. Listen to The Sun is Shining Down. It will fill you with joy. EDIT Oh oh oh, try Crash Kings. They're very... well they're kind of unusual. Think Billy Joel meets the Mars Volta.
I'm going to link you the same thing I link everyone that asks for new music. This
Oh, and my own addition to the list would be a band called Anberlin. Try Dismantle. Repair. and Feel Good Drag.
With C&C, the albums tell a story (the 5th album being a prequel) But seeing as you're just starting with them, I'd probably say the safest bet is to go with the most famous album: Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness. If you like that, then definately delve into the rest of their albums, cause they're an amazing band

Listen to this. Might not be obscure considering the proximity to you, but they're pretty out there.
I don't know obscure things. I can say Old Crow Medicine Show is fabulous. Go listen to Coheed & Cambria.
You'd like Mumford and Sons I bet; kinda bluegrassy with a very light christian subtext in the lyrics. really emotional songs! Have some specific songs: Janelle Monae - Tightrope Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel; We're All in this Together (two songs) Devendra Banhart - Lazy Butterfly Pet shop Boys (they've surely had some top hits, but you should listen anyway!) - Love Etc Silver Jews - Sufferin' Jukebox; We Could Be Looking For the Same Thing The Constellations - Love is a Murder; Step Right Up; December Sunset Rubdown - Black Swan; Nightingale/December Song Dr. Dog - The Old Days Regina Spektor - Uh-Merica Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes; Grass; Bees; Air - Mike Mills Girls - Alright Hot Chip - Ready for the Floor; And I Was a Boy From School Feist - Sea Lion Woman; Secret Heart Devo - (also top 40 in the 80s, but they had a new album last year!) What We Do; Don't Shoot (I'm a Man); No Place Like Home; Human Rocket; Mind Games Martha Rose - Nightingale Sah Lin - Flip Top Magic Man Eumir Deodato - Also Sprach Zarathustra Belle and Sebastian - Dear Catastrophe Waitress; Roy walker; Stay Loose; Legal Man Sufjan Stevens - Vesuvius Steve Hillage - The Glorious Om Riff Miniature Tigers - Lolita The Cat Empire - Rhyme & Reason that should tide you for a while
Agreed
Me and all of my friends and Corpus have younger siblings, and so the siblings eventually became part of our circle of friends, so all of my friends range from 12-20 xD
Dreamer: My guess is 18. I think it's around the point that you get actually gain responsibility, anyway, so I suppose that's different for many people. I do actually know a 30-something year old who is rather silly. And I'm 27, and most people say I act five. But yeah, it's something I find to be rather unique to younger people is the ability to not only be silly, but to be accepted and appreciated for your silliness. =]
I will find children and bring them with me to the wedding. I have cousins who should still be adorable. A fair few of my graduating class are giving birth soon too so they should be walking at least. What's the first word of this blog? Jiro.
Kids just seem to have a way of manufacturing a fun environments I think. I have 3 younger siblings, the youngest of which is 10 & something when I'm in a bad mood I love to hang around her for an hour or 2 because within 10 minutes she tends to make the BS of adult life seem totally irrelevant. I wonder at exactly what point we all lose the ability to have that silly kind of fun?
I'll be a flower girl
