I'm trying not to but until I'm 18 (one more month!) I have to run by all of our visit plans by them and have both sides be okay with them. Thank God we'll be 4 hours closer when I go to college. His dad is okay with us but isn't home a lot due to his job, but he lets me use his frequent flyer miles to see Matt for free, which is awesome.
You can't please everyone. Don't let it detract from the relationship. Remember, at the end of the day it's between two people. Don't let outside disturbances affect that. Well I'm studying psychology so it's all good! And once every few months. His mom hates my parents and makes it difficult sometimes to arrange plans, but the next time I see him will be in June for senior prom.

now that you've already had your visit, I can go ahead and tell you how awful I find gynecological visits to be. I've only had two, but after each, I feel incredibly shaken and traumatized. Usually, I describe this as feeling like I've been hand raped. I wonder if I could find a doctor who didn't make the inspection process so sterile and impersonal that I would feel better about having my paps scraped and smeared. as far as BC is concerned, my first gyne visit started with my mom saying "well, since you're starting college, you should get on birth control" and my face looked like "o_owhut" but, condoms are cheap and easily available and not as much of a hassle as popular opinion would have you think.
