A bit of an update, turns out I was wrong, there are enough key cards for everyone to play the ambidex game. As for the ambidex game itself... well let's just say I'm suddenly much farther from getting a 9 than before. It really is a game of "trust and betrayal", huh.

From what I've seen of this game's Zero, he's very similar to the game master in the Danganronpa series. A deceptively silly character that was actually very threatening when the plot demanded it.

@Shauna Yeah that's the frustrating part; the twists were SO GOOD back when I read that other visual novel that I know, had I not read it before it would've been similarly amazing. I can totally empathize with everyone who had their mind blown by 999, because it was the same for me, just not with 999.

@Scotty_ffgamer Whoa that sucks. I hope you find a way to get around that problem.

AND, apparently I can't load my save file. I'm playing on the New 3DS XL and when I hit continue, it says it loads and then goes to a black screen

Whenever I finish reading this, I'm going to have to try to get a hold of the other VN which I will also not name which you say did everything better. (I just skimmed to get some basic impressions without spoiling myself somehow, haha).

It's a shame that the plot was so similar to another VN. I guess for many, this would be the first time that such a plot has been delivered to them in such a way. It was for me!

Yeah, there are some requirements for getting "true end". I don't remember if I found them myself or if I made sure I picked the right options after getting all the other endings.

That ending was my first as well. It was pretty radical My mom played this game too and she lost it with this one.

I was just warned that Knox *is not necessarily effective* in 999 (and also VLR especially), so I'll try to be a bit more flexible in my thinking.

I've did a couple fan arts for this game. It's actually really great, and I have to agree that the text speed is really slow when you first play. But you can easily skip through the text when you're doing your other playthroughs to get the other endings. It's really amazing, the true ending really throws you off when you learn who's Zero and whatnot. omg, so amazing.

I think there have been fan-made ports to the PC! But I may be mistaken. There's also the option of emulation. There are fan-translations of the PSP version, while only the Vita releases have official ones.

Sadly Danganronpa is a bit inaccessible for me, as I have neither a PSP nor a Vita and none of my friends have one either. If I do get an opportunity I'll check out the first game at the very least.
