Stuffs, happenings, etc.

So I just finished my first french class and I don like the teacher. But I figure 1 on 4 is pretty good so I'm oki with that. So here are some happenings in my life right now, each with their own title:

Stupid people who pay for college and don't do what they're supposed to:
So some people decided it would be a good idea to pay to go to school and not pay attention or get anything out of it. I won't even go into the immature texting and note passing and giggling in the background. This isn't high school people!!! Anyways, when our economie teacher told us we would be doing alot of graphs in our class, I took that to mean that I should get some graphing paper. So the next class comes around and SURPRISE we needed some graphing paper. I was the only one who had some.
So then we are told in our technology class that we need to get such and such manuel at the schools book store for the next class. We were told specifically what to get and where to get it. Somehow I was the only one with the manuel.

Driving and foot fashion:
So I am currently taking professional driving lessons (which are friggin expensive btw) and I have my second lesson tomorrow. I literally had NEVER driven before my first lesson and was kinda freaked out. I did ok, but I break to suddenly and the instructor said it's probably because of my thick shoes, and said I should get thinner ones. I think I just suck at breaking, but whatever, we'll try it his way. So now my boyfriend and I have matching shoes!!!! (I have a thing for men's shoes and he liked the same pair so now we have the same shoes).
I finally found someone to help me practice my driving. Honestly, you would think I was asking for a kidney. So on weekends I can now practice my driving.

Work:
I have a job interview at Tim Hortons tomorrow after my driving lesson. If you're Canadian, you know what that is, if not, it's a coffee and dougnut shop that also serves sandwhiches and soup and such, but no one cares unless they're there anyways and realize that they're kinda hungry. They supposedly have really good coffee, but I don't drink coffee so I wouldn't know. I should get it and I hope I do. I want to work and not just sit around the house playing videao games. Okay, that's not true, but we need the extra money. I also have an internship lined up in January at a kitchen and bath seller, which would be good for my resume considering I am going into sales.

Annoying people that must be endoured:
So my boyfriend and I went grocery shopping with our new house guest because she works at the grocery store and can get us a discount. SO NOT WORTH the 17 dollars we saved. To make it short, she took stuff out of the cart that I wanted to be replaced with stuff she wanted. IT WASN'T EVEN HER GROCERY!!! Anyway, I could go on about this but I won't.
Also, her new boyfriend is kinda creepy. They've only been dating for 3 weeks and have only known each other for a bit under a month and he's saying stuff like "she's the woman I'm going to marry" and "they say you have to give 50/50 in a relationship, but I say it's 100/100" and such. He also says she takes good care of her cats but that's just crap. She doesn't spend any time with them, only changes there litter boxes when we complain, doesn't clean up after them and barely feeds them. (We do, just so you know that they aren't starving.) I didn't tell him all that, cuz I'm not like that, but still. I was thinking it.

So anyways, thats mostly whats new in life. Sorry it was so long.

That's all

I always brought my GameBoy or laptop or something to class. It doesn't mean you're not learning anything, it just means your main source of learning isn't the lecture. I'm an independent learner--once the teacher gives me a study guide, I'll go off and study on my own. But if I'm trying to listen to the lecture, my mind will start to wander, so I keep myself half-busy by playing Tetris or something.

Some people aren't interested in learning the material, sure, but sometimes it's just a different learning style.

Breaking smoothly is hard to get used to. You'll get it.

You'll have picked up proper braking technique soon enough. I can't believe no one wants to teach you how to drive. I love doing that stuff. Of course I love to drive.

Good luck with the (permanent) house guests.

I understand your point ShulpQuack, but considering that said students also couldn't even be bothered to go get the requested manuel, it tells me they are not all that invested. I could be wrong though.

Sharky, she had better not be. And it was extremelly difficult to get someone to agree to teach me. I almost cried tears of joy when someone said yes because I thought I was going to have to dish out more money for additional lessons.
Why don't you move here and teach me how to drive??

I guess it depends on how much it costs. I rarely used any of my textbooks. Professors are required to require that you guy grossly overpriced reading materials, whether you'll actually need it or not.

Shlup has a point. I've had professors tell me I'll need the book, and that they will teach from it. Then they don't do anything like that. Used books are your best bet.

If you're paying money for lessons, they ARE going to teach you how to use a manual transmission right?

Text books are such bulltrout. I got really sick and tired of paying over a hundred dollars for USED text books (smurf you math and science) that the teacher only had us use once or twice. And I only went to college for a year. My second semester I would try to find the text book online and then only buy it if the teacher used it in class frequently.

But not buying the littler things like graphing paper is kind of lame. Some of them probably want to wait until they know what all of their professors want so they can do all of their shopping at once, but you miss out that way :<

i cant keep up my concentration at school becaus i dont find it interesting.
i work with pigs, and some lessons (for example) go about goats (and goats only).
Its not that i has to be about pigs, but can not find it interesting when its about 1 animal..
    not everyone likes goats!!!
when it goes in general about animals than its interesting becaus u can apply it on any animal

worst of all.. last year we had lessons about water-birds... NOBODY was interested, including the teacher :S
