  1. Sad ramblings

I did some jogging today and I didn't run out of energy as quickly as usual, so that's a positive! And I've been working hard on my workouts

But I haven't trimmed down much or lost much weight and that makes me very sad. I feel like a tub of lard. I hate going out in public because I'm worried people are looking at me and thinking "Look at that fatass!" It's getting hot here and I can't even wear my shorts because I'm so worried about going out showing my fat thighs.

  2. Changing faces

by , 05-09-2015 at 12:39 PM (Fynn's positive life blog)
Now I know this may be weird to some people who change their avatars on a weekly basis, but Id grown very attached to my previous avatar, to the point of actually treating it as my own face here.

But as I've recently shortened my name, I find that to be a good opportunity to experiment with my look. Behold Edwin. I've been replaying Baldur's Gate recently and have this wizard in my party for the first time and I am having a blast. Edwin is so much fun on so many levels, I can't even ...

  3. Rogue Friday: Sega Genesis

The first edition of "Rogue Friday" is here. A day dedicated to talking about whatever the smurf I want. This week I decided it would be the perfect time to honor my favorite retro console: the Sega Genesis!

  4. 999 First Ending - Speculation Time!

by , 05-08-2015 at 07:01 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
So I just got my first ending in 999. What happened was (SPOILER)Clover went a little mad and killed Santa, Seven, June and then Junpei with an axe. Oh joy.

I won't tag spoilers from here on.

I definitely enjoy the way this game is shaping up, because it feels as if the big mystery of the game - "Who is Zero?" - is a genuine mystery you can reason out before it's revealed to you. In other words, a fair challenge to the reader. And so, to let the veterans enjoy watching ...

  6. 999 First Impressions

by , 05-06-2015 at 04:52 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Well I've reached the first actual choice so I thought it might be a good time to give first impressions.

Sorry about this being the only screenshot, I fear running into spoilers if I look for anything else.

    First things first.

OH MY GOD THAT TEXT SPEED IS SO SLOW IT'S KILLING ME.

*Ahem* Sorry. I haven't read a visual novel that didn't just skip the text-appearing-animation if you click ...

  9. AIR Summer Arc Thoughts

by , 05-01-2015 at 09:39 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Well, well, that was actually pretty damn good.

After completing the three storyline paths of Dream, you unlock the Summer arc. It takes place in a completely different era with completely different characters and overall has pretty much nothing to do with what you've read up to this point.

Summer takes place in ancient Japan. The protagonist is a samurai by the name of Ryuuya. He is sent to protect a 'winged ...
  10. Umineko: A Reflection on Episode 8

by , 04-27-2015 at 03:00 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
This post contains heavy spoilers for the eighth episode of Umineko no Naku Koro ni. If you have not read Umineko, beware.

    (SPOILER)

Most people who have read Twilight of the Golden Witch probably aren't surprised at this, but it's my least favorite of the Umineko episodes. For the simple reason that most of the main plot has already ended by that point; Battler and Beatrice's game was resolved back in Episode 6, and Episode 7 tied up pretty much all the loose ends of the mystery
