  1. An Interview with Koki Yoshimune on his writing

by , 10-31-2015 at 02:32 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
    http://www.siliconera.com/2015/10/30...cters-lovable/

This got posted on the Muv-Luv Kickstarter a little while ago, and I found it pretty interesting. I especially wasn't aware of the whole 'War Guilt' thing and why writers turn to mecha to depict war situations instead.
  2. It's the final update!

    No more updates. Just reviews.

Finally figured trout out and I'll be able to get back into my weekly schedule. Now I have an extra week to get work done.

    Catch you guys later.
  3. Nostalgia is a cruel mistress

Between going through my old LJ this week and checking in here more, I am just full of that bitch this week.

It never ceases to amaze me how some things change, yet stay the same. Super cliché, I know.

Mostly, I wish that I had realized then, that some of the conversations I've looked through recently were going to be my last talks with those people. I'd have been more witty and insightful, or at least appreciated that person more.

  4. Introducing the CLANNAD Bookclub of Kazamatsuri.org

by , 10-09-2015 at 01:26 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
So within the next month or two we'll finally see the release of CLANNAD on Steam. CLANNAD being one of Key's most acclaimed visual novels and also one of my all-time favorites. One of the finest examples of a great character-focused game.

And with that the Kazamatsuri.org community will, once again, have a bookclub. A detailed article as to what the bookclub is and what participation entails can be found here: http://kazamatsuri.org/introducing-t...nnad-on-steam/ ...
  5. Question

    Okay.

Once again, I apologize for lashing out and bashing eoffers for not doing more. It was very very wrong of me, and I honestly do feel really awful about it. My brain wasn't functioning properly from lack of sleep, being ill, and some other things going on. It's not an excuse and it doesn't make it okay, but all I can say is I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart. And I hope y'all can forgive me, but I understand if not. Lesson learned: no more crowd funding attempts. ...

  6. Umineko Ramblings - Solvability Per Episode

by , 10-05-2015 at 01:15 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
It's the Rokkenjima Incident's anniversary today, so I felt like making some sort of post about Umineko at least. So this is what I came up with. Time to enjoy being extremely vague! At least I believe I did well to avoid notable spoilers in this post.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni is a mystery story. A story with truths hidden beneath its surface which it wants its readers to figure out on their own. But how likely is it really that the attentive reader will actually figure out everything ...
  7. Evacuate?

Hurricane, might have to evacuate, blah blah blah.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed and sad that more people didn't help us with my cat. I really appreciate everything everyone has done with sharing and the few who donated. I actually stayed in tears in and off for awhile over just that little bit.

But, I guess I don't have as many friends as I kind of thought I did (let's not kid ourselves, we know the majority of y'all hate me anyway). & yes, I do understand ...

  8. New Camera, Lousy Mic

A few of you know I started doing video reviews of late, and while I got a new camera I'm running into a boat load of problems with it, among other things. Here's a quick video explaining my situation:

  9. Rose Guns Days First Impressions

by , 09-26-2015 at 02:32 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
What do you call it when the writer of Higurashi and Umineko decides to go write a Baccano! slash Cowboy Bebop esque story?

    smurfing glorious that's what.

No seriously, this has to be one of the best prospects for a story I've ever heard. Rose Gun(s) Days is sometimes called Ryukishi07's most accessible work, and well, I wouldn't be surprised. It's set - for the most part - in post-war Japan, 1947 to be exact. But before I go into the story further, ...
  10. Muv-Luv Localization Kickstarter has gone live!

by , 09-24-2015 at 08:13 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
The kickstarter for the Muv-Luv localization just went live!

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...l-novel-series

Muv-Luv is the best-rated visual novel series on VNDB, and it's not conceited to say that it is probably the most loved and universally appreciated Visual Novel series in the English-speaking realm of visual novel fans.

If you want to support the localization of such a legacy and the industry as a whole, or you ...
