This got posted on the Muv-Luv Kickstarter a little while ago, and I found it pretty interesting. I especially wasn't aware of the whole 'War Guilt' thing and why writers turn to mecha to depict war situations instead.
  2. Muv-Luv Localization Kickstarter has gone live!

The kickstarter for the Muv-Luv localization just went live!

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...l-novel-series

Muv-Luv is the best-rated visual novel series on VNDB, and it's not conceited to say that it is probably the most loved and universally appreciated Visual Novel series in the English-speaking realm of visual novel fans.

If you want to support the localization of such a legacy and the industry as a whole, or you ...
  3. Muv-Luv Alternative Review

by , 07-04-2015 at 11:14 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
This review will contain some spoilers for the general setting and plot of Muv-Luv Unlimited. If you wish to be completely unspoiled regarding the Muv-Luv series, stay clear of this review.

Muv-Luv Alternative is a visual novel created by âge, the sequel to the original Muv-Luv. As of writing this review, it is the #1 most popular visual novel on VNDB, and it's up there as one of the darkest stories ever told in visual novels.

  4. Muv-Luv is getting an official localization

by , 06-30-2015 at 12:03 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)

So this is a thing. People called âge localizations an impossibility, but Degica did it. They're gonna be kickstarting it which you can probably blame on Sekai Project's successes in doing just that, but I have no doubts it'll meet its goal. In fact, I'll certainly be pledging towards it, since while I do overall think Muv-Luv is more popular than it needs to be it's still a damn good story overall.

    The formal announcement isn't ...

    Time is the cruelest kindness.

Oh yes, Muv-Luv. Fair warning, this is gonna be a long post.

I originally planned on posting this list quite a bit earlier in March, but there was one thing that kept me from doing so: I had ...
  6. That Muv-Luv Alternative Opening

by , 03-24-2015 at 12:41 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
(Slight NSFW imagery primarily in the first 15 seconds)

I don't know whether to love or hate it. On the one hand it makes me totally hyped up to keep reading and the song is quite catchy. It reminds me of Neon Genesis Evangelion's opening in a way.

On the other hand THOSE smurfING SUITS. That kind of immersion-breaking fanservice was one of my biggest complaints with Muv-Luv Unlimited and to have them show up in the Alternative OP does not exactly make ...
  7. Muv-Luv (Extra + Unlimited) Review

by , 03-22-2015 at 11:09 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Muv-Luv is a visual novel created by âge. It is the precursor to one of the most popular visual novels of all time, so to be as unbiased as possible I'm going to write this review before moving on to its successor.

    Overview

Takeru Shirogane is a typical highschool student who doesn't get very good grades and likes spending most of his free time either hanging out with his childhood friend Sumika Kagami, or playing ...

  8. Muv-Luv - Thoughts on Extra

by , 03-15-2015 at 10:12 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Having just finished "Muv-Luv Extra", which believe it or not is the first entry in the Muv-Luv series, I thought I might as well speak my thoughts on it a bit.

I'll preface this by saying that I do not regret having spent my time reading through it. But it certainly has problems, and you won't see me recommend Muv-Luv Extra (on its own) to anyone else, probably ever. So... what's so bad about it?

    To ...
