  1. Benchmarks

I just added my 200th Jesus sighting to my religious pareidolia website, Stuff That Looks Like Jesus -- the special sighting this time being on a mothersmurfing stingray. I still have 15 or so reader submissions to post and a folder's worth of old bookmarks to get to, which isn't even counting the 1-3 new sightings per week (on average) that will crop up. I think it's safe to say that I will likely never run out.

Speaking of religious humor, why god is too busy to answer prayers: ...

  3. The cause of The Gay

So I'm stuck at the law school for another 90 minutes until my next class and I'm procrastinating finishing my reading for it. So here's a little rant I promised in my last entry about the "choice vs. genetics" dichotomy as to what causes people to be gay.

The religious nutjobs say it is entirely a choice. But not only is this entirely baseless (well, based on the mindless bigotry that being gay is "ew"), but what the smurf does that even matter? Even IF being ...
  4. It Gets Better... for Christian bigots who get called out for their harassment

Mind-numbing article about the It Gets Better campaign, focusing on the suicides of Christians who have been "harassed by homosexual activists." It is pointedly mentioned that these incidents were not covered by the mainstream media -- obviously because of that homo agenda which permeates the entire country.

Except... the reason the media didn't cover any of these stories is revealed at the end, where it's admitted none of these kids committed suicide. Then wtf was the ...

  6. Christopher Hitchens

This evening Christoher Hitchens came to William & Mary to debate with a professor (Professor and former army officer Lawrence Wilkerson) on Middle East policy, that was to be followed by an equal length question-and-answer session, where students could send in questions on any topic. I was excited to see Hitchens, one of the world's most famous atheists, as he is always entertaining -- and this may be my last chance to see him live, because he has terminal cancer. And it was extraordinarily ...

  7. The Great Burqa Debate

This came up on facebook a while ago, but for whatever reason I decided not to make an EoEO thread about it. I just realized it was worth a blog post, considering I saved it as a text file and just need to copy/paste. Here you go!

A while ago, an old high school friend of mine made the following Facebook post:

”Just found a very good article detailing the pros and cons of banning islamic veils. The religious freedom arguments are strong, and a ban would be hypocritical, ...
