  1. Introducing the CLANNAD Bookclub of Kazamatsuri.org

by , 10-09-2015 at 01:26 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
So within the next month or two we'll finally see the release of CLANNAD on Steam. CLANNAD being one of Key's most acclaimed visual novels and also one of my all-time favorites. One of the finest examples of a great character-focused game.

And with that the Kazamatsuri.org community will, once again, have a bookclub. A detailed article as to what the bookclub is and what participation entails can be found here: http://kazamatsuri.org/introducing-t...nnad-on-steam/ ...
  2. AIR: Why the Key community is amaaaazing

Even if you haven't read AIR, this is just wonderful.

  3. AIR Air Arc Thoughts

by , 05-26-2015 at 09:20 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
About time I posted this. Between university, Higurashi and Cross Channel I forgot about it for some time, but the bookclub still has me coming back to it every so often.

So Air is AIR's final arc. The arc's name is actually also capitalized, but to make a distiction I'll take the liberty to change that. They really couldn't have picked a more confusing name, could they?

  4. AIR Summer Arc Thoughts

by , 05-01-2015 at 09:39 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Well, well, that was actually pretty damn good.

After completing the three storyline paths of Dream, you unlock the Summer arc. It takes place in a completely different era with completely different characters and overall has pretty much nothing to do with what you've read up to this point.

Summer takes place in ancient Japan. The protagonist is a samurai by the name of Ryuuya. He is sent to protect a 'winged ...
  5. AIR Dream Arc Thoughts

by , 04-22-2015 at 10:52 AM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
Having completed Dream and now moving on to Summer, I felt I could at least post my thoughts on it, and maybe compare it to the anime a bit.

Dream consists of three character routes; Minagi's, Kano's and Misuzu's, and I went through them in this order.

    Minagi Tohno

I didn't really remember much about her character from the anime, so a lot of this was 'new' to me. Minagi is a very quiet girl and doesn't ...
  6. AIR Common Route Thoughts

by , 02-26-2015 at 10:46 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)

AIR's common route is quite entertaining, I must say. So far it has done a good job creating a potentially interesting setting for the character routes.

First off, the soundtrack is amazing. Need I mention Natsukage? So damn good. Or the opening Tori no Uta, IMO one of Key's best openings, music-wise at least? Yeah, it's great.

Yukito is a great protagonist. It's not often that Key protagonists actually have an ...
  7. AIR - Kazamatsuri.org Bookclub Readalong

by , 02-10-2015 at 06:18 PM (Karifean's Blog of Visual Novels)
So Kazamatsuri.org, a Key community site I frequent, is having a bookclub on Key's second visual novel: AIR. As I have not read AIR, and also because this bookclub sounds pretty fun, I will be reading along.

So here's how this'll work. Over two weeks the participants will read through a particular route in AIR and discuss it, and at the end of said two weeks there will also be a podcast about the route in question. There ...
