I called my insurance company again today, but this time a different line because I needed to talk to a "dedicated Health Plan Advisor" for this issue. I have this brochure they sent me about tax credits for these new Obamaplans, and it said to call to determine my eligibility and receive more info.

On hold, the audio was a little different. There was even a message about these tax credits! It describes the tax credit, and then says "To determine eligibility--" and then cuts off and goes back to the same grating piano solo as before.

I wasn't on hold very long though, being that I was calling a different department. Still, I wouldn't have bothered calling if I had known it was just going to be an old man describing how to use CoveredCA.com to me... This whole brochure and "call for more info" suggestion could've been summarized as "Go to CoveredCA.com and fill shit out."

The best part though was that the site is bogged down today due to the February 1st deadline, and the "Apply Now" button was taking a very long time to work. The Heath Plan Advisor's advice? Click it more firmly. Apparently that helps for him.

I'm filling out the application now. It's taking a minute or two per page to load. Let's see what Obama's been up to...

The audio that plays when I'm on hold with my insurance company loops every 45 seconds. I've heard it 260 times so far today. At around 230 you start to flinch every time the piano solo is about to start, like you're gonna get a smack.

I made Bailey's hand print into Christmas ornaments for myself, my mom, and BJ's mom. I used a clay I made from flour and baking soda.

Apparently Mod Podge is pretty acidic 'cause now shit's all bubbly and it smells like vinegar. AHH!!

I already tried a sealing spray, but it just gets absorbed. Now that the brush-on stuff is made of extra fail, I'll try an acrylic spray.

My nose holes are upset with me. Bailey seems to be amused though.

Milk

I really, really like having a baby. Being a mother was always my main goal in life, but I didn't think I'd like it this much. I don't even mind that my nipples are killing me right now because I just pumped more milk than I ever have in one sitting before--I feel accomplished. Today she stared lifting her legs and laying them to the side, so that she's almost laying on her right side, and it's like the biggest deal ever. I took a few dozen pictures of this major event. I'm going to call the president when she rolls over. And then I have to start baby-proofing.

I made more milk just thinking about it.

Generic Update

I just feel like slamming my forehead into my desk over and over. There's not really a good reason for it either; I think I'm having hormonal issues.

I should be in a good mood! I got three promotions at work in the last week or so. I was promoted from seasonal to regular, and then I got a trainer position that I had interviewed for. I had to turn that one down, though, because just a couple of days ago I was offered the position above trainer. They want you to work as a regular for a year before applying for that, but they gave it to me after being a regular for two days (seasonal for four months), so I am basically the greatest.

I've been slowly updating my Etsy store, but I get discouraged because I'm not sure how I feel about my product photos. Either the image is dull, or the contrast is too high--I can't find a place that I'm happy with.

I've been spending the rest of my free time either in my pool, which has been as warm as a bath ever since BJ bought that solar cover for it, arguing with my father via Facebook, which you can watch here, collecting Disney pins, or reading (and blogging about) The Bible.

Starting tonight, though, I'll be properly immersed in Guild Wars 2, which I'm looking forward to because I could really use some mindless entertainment for a few days. I haven't decided what race or class to be; I've got less than two hours to think about it.

Well, I work at Disney California Adventure, which is part of the Disney Resort. I'm starting to feel torn over which one I like better, honestly.

I'm usually just a store lacky, but a couple of days ago I had a shift in the "Mad Tea Party" arcade. Some woman let her troupe of toddlers throw the skeeballs in whatever machine they wanted, throwing all of them out of balance, but I got to play like ten games of skeeball trying to fix them so whatever. They also have a couple of Kinects set up in there.

After closing all the techs came in with the big lift machine and we played a seven-way basketball tourny, in which I came in last. I said "I did bad," to which one responded, "Yes, you did very bad."

But then I played the hit-the-light-up-buttons-as-fast-as-you-can game and destroyed everyone who challenged me, so that made up for it.

Last night I had to stay super late, but one of the guys at the candy store brought over the leftover gourmet marshmallows, so that made up for all the shirts I had to fold.

I'm undecided on what job I want next. I could get promoted in this department, or I can transfer to guest relations. I'd like to eventually do VIP guest relations, which basically makes me a lacky for fancy people. Peter Dinklage was in the park last week and I missed it.

I'm also looking into buying a bundle of trading pins. I've been trading pins at work so much I think I want to start my own collection.

In other news, BJ has started doing a lot of the work for my Etsy store. I make the stuff and print the shipping labels, then I pass it all to him and he puts it together and takes it to the post office. He also set up www.sweetwhatevers.com. We each have our own offices set up in the house now, and it's lovely.

I've started using homemade versions of almost everything. Dishwasher soap, laundry soap, various household cleaners, shampoo, toothpaste... Today I made my own deodorant. My armpits are just so... clean. And odorless. It's lovely.

I'm trying to wean myself off of shampoo and conditioner entirely. When people go shampoo-free, they have to deal with a few weeks of their hair being gross before their scalp stops over-producing oils. I'm hoping to avoid that by mixing my own shampoo, and slowly lessening the amount of soap in the mixture.

Everything I've tried so far has worked better than the store-bought versions, and it's all much cheaper. And it smells better, because I usually just put a few drops of lavender essential oil in whatever I'm making. It really complements the arrowroot powder in the deodorant.

I'm also slowly starting gardening. I have a basil plant that I'm desperately trying to keep alive, and I'm going to plant my next plant soon. Just haven't decided what.

Newsflash: I'm Stupid

Yesterday I was getting dolled up for my valentine when I thought "Golly, my pores sure are full of heinous particulates." Fortunately, I knew just who would have the solution: Pinterest. That site is all about collecting household remedies.

And, lo, did I find that 1 tbs sugar + 1 tbs baking soda + 1 tbs water + 20 minutes = clean face. So I decided to try it. Unfortunately, I can't go more than a few minutes without sticking things in my mouth, so while I'm mixing my bukkake facial (if you had seen it, you would know there's no other appropriate name for it; however, if you don't know what that means, don't Google it) and I absentmindedly taste it. Turns out baking soda tastes like gym mats--I spit it out. I needed to get the taste out of my mouth, so I grab a clementine orange and pop its naked flesh into my mouth.

Yeah. I ate citrus fruit right after putting baking soda in my mouth. Words cannot describe.

Anyway, twenty minutes later my face looked and felt amazing. Highly recommend will try again A++.

I got a super sexy paper cutter! I've had it for a few days, but I'm just now really getting the hang of it. It was a "business expense," and so far I'm using it to re-design and semi-mass produce my packaging.

The set of cards I made to pin my Legend of Zelda earrings came out really nice, I think.

I'm working on a lot of new things to put up. I have BJ's grandpa's... like suit or towel or something rack with an ever-increasing amount of necklaces hanging from it.

Unfortunately, China seems to shut down for the second half of January for their New Year, so a bunch of the stuff I ordered is going to take forever.

Oh well. I'm having cherry cobbler and tea from my Batman mug. Hurrah.

My Crazy Life

I haven't moved from this chair for three weeks.

Yup. That's about it. Crazy, right? I have to get up and, like, just move every hour or so because sitting this long makes me feel like dying.

Orders have been slow for the last few days--only like ten or so instead of 20 or so. I might actually catch up soon. I've been dangling Skyward Sword in my own face like a carrot.

Here are the movies I've watched so far this week:

50/50 - Young guy has super bad cancer.
This had just enough funny in it to keep me from killing myself, and I liked the cast.

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy - A fairly average group of adult friends decide to have an orgy.
Something is wrong with me for sitting through this. It's like I'm trying to pretend I'm watching a comedy when I know quite well that I'm really watching porn. Don't make the same mistake I did--save yourself some well-deserved shame and just go to RedTube.

Bad Teacher - Some chick with a weird face is a terrible teacher.
I may be more inclined to like it because I was a teacher, but I definitely thought it was better than I had heard it was. There were some major flaws, but overall I thought it was entertaining.

Batman: Year One - Bruce's first year as Batman.
It was more interesting than I thought it would be, though I don't think all that much happened. I didn't really care for the depiction of Catwoman.

Camille - Guy is blackmailed into marrying childhood friend. She dies but they go on their honeymoon anyway.
There is not a single moment in this movie that makes any sense. But not in that mental disorder way that reminds you of your last LSD trip, just in a kind of... everyone's acting normal but you don't know why way. I don't know. I liked it despite it's kind of failed attempt at whimsy.

Dangerous Beauty - Unable to marry her noble lover, a peasant girl strives to be Venice's greatest hooker.
Oh man this movie is hot. It's like a romance novel but you actually get to see the boobs. And it says it's based on a true story so I can pretend I have some historical interest here.

Falling Angels - General family dysfunction.
It's good. Like the mom is crazy and the dad is one of those manly men who don't know how to cope with tit without pissing everyone off. The daughters each cope along the course of a different teenage stereotype.

Forks Over Knives - Documentary. Eat plants.
Informative without really pushing vegetarianism. Yes, vegans are often interviewed, but they're not all like "You must be vegan to surviiiive!"

Something Borrowed - Girl smurfs her best friend's fiances.
I usually watch romantic comedies because I don't really have to pay attention, but this one was pretty good. It wasn't as predictable as most, and the interaction between the characters didn't seem as forced as it does with most of the movies in this genre.

Tangled - At last I see the light~
Yeah I watched it again. And I sang along. And maybe I danced a little.

The Best and the Brightest - They want to get their four-year-old into one of those insane private kindergartens so they lie a lot.
I was bored, probably because I didn't really get their motivation at all. It goes into the realms of ridiculous and predictable too many times.

The Help - A historical fiction of negro maids in 1960s Jackson, Mississippi.
This level of socially acceptable racism never fails to blow my mind. This was good stuff, though I tend to be biased towards civil rights movies.

The House of Yes - Opposite-gender twins like to reenact the Kennedy assassination and then smurf.
The only thing holding this movie back from smurfed-up perfection is the horrible acting of Tori Spelling. Or maybe that adds to it.

Thor - The old gods are from another planet, apparently.
I thought Captain America would always be my least favorite Avengers movie. Nope.

What Dreams May Come - Robin Williams dies and is in Heaven. His wife kills herself and goes to Hell. He goes to get her.
One of the best depictions of love that I've seen in a movie. Despite the weird semi-pro-suicide message, Chris + Annie = OTP

Where the Wild Things Are - A glimpse into childhood psychosis.
This was exactly what I wanted it to be--none of that cheery family bulltit.

As My Ass Grows Ever Wider

I grossly underestimated what the Christmas rush would be like. I've had 85 orders since Friday. And at least half of them have more than one item.

I haven't left my craft room hardly at all. Last night I stayed up until 5:30am and got back to work at 11:00am today. I'm not complaining though--my craft room is all set up for fun times. In fact, I will now review for you all of the movies I've watched so far this week.

Another Earth - Suddenly, a parallel Earth appears! And then a girl kills an entire family. Oops!
Valuable lessons were learned. I've had a lot of luck picking movies lately that just happen to have good sex scenes.

Atlantis the Lost Empire - Disney movie in which people search for Atlantis.
Moderately enjoyable despite being one of the most predictable movies I've ever seen.

Blue Valentine - Watch a marriage fall apart.
I feel like the goal of the people involved in making this movie was to bum me out. At least they peppered it with plenty of T&A, as if to apologize for what they were doing to me.

Dinner for Schmucks - Steve Carell plays more of an idiot than usual.
The previews for this movie looked bad, but they could not do justice to just how horrible it is. It's like all of those awkward over-the-top Michael Scott [The Office] moments for two straight hours.

Family Tree - Dysfunctional family dysfunctions.
I don't smurfing know. It was decent.

Friends with Benefits - Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake smurf like donkeys.
I watch titty movies for a cheap laugh and a few shots of thrusting man ass. Deal with it. I liked this movie, and slightly more than I liked No Strings Attached too. Which is difficult to say because my number one girl crush is Natalie Portman.

Hall Pass - Owen Wilson gets a week "off" from being married.
This was not nearly as horrible as I had anticipated. Has some nice boob shots.

Hanna - Man raises his daughter in the woods to be an assassin.
I liked the casting in this movie a lot. No majorly interesting plot developments, but enjoyable.

Life as We Know It - People who hate each other adopt dead friends' baby.
What can I say? It's a basic Katherine Heigl movie.

Mr. Popper's Penguins - Jim Carey's ice cold heart is melted by penguins.
There is nothing to dislike about this movie. It's charming and I've had a serious hard on for Jim Carey since I was like twelve. Shut up.

One Day - A glimpse of two people's lives on July 15th, from 1989 to 2011.
This movie was made to smurf with me. And it didn't even have the decency to show me any tits first.

Our Idiot Brother - Paul Rudd is an organic farmer.
And his three sisters are [something rude]. But Zooey Dechanel and Rashida Jones play girlfriends and Paul Rudd is Paul Rudd so all is forgiven.

Rabbit Hole - Their kid died and now they are sad.
Well put together, a lot of emotion that's difficult to portray in a film. And I want their house.

Shrek Forever After - Shrek decides to be a dick.
Why did I watch this?

The Art of Getting By - Artsy boy never does his homework.
I have an affection for stories with sweet, dorky boys.

The Change-Up - A family/career man and an immature manwhore (who are BFFs) switch bodies.
It was funny, despite the opening joke being too titty. Literally.

The Lovely Bones - A fourteen-year-old girl narrates her murder.
I didn't expect a fairly graphic murder movie to feel so... young adult. Well shot and acted, but left me feeling dissatisfied.

The Smurfs - They fall into a vortex and end up in New York.
I didn't hate it. The interaction between the CG and live actors was tit and Vanity (favorite!) was only in one scene, but I'm a sucker.

Winnie the Pooh - Pooh and friends go back to the basics.
If you don't like this movie then I don't like you.

And now to watch more movies while I attempt to finish these orders. I'm desperate to get these orders packed tonight so that I can play Skyward Sword all day tomorrow while BJ's at work. I preordered the special edition and it's just sitting on my shelf, unopened and mocking.

Here's the stuff going out tomorrow. I'm gonna box it up... and then get started on the 30 orders I haven't started on. xP

I'm very sleepy, but I'm glad I finally found something I'm good at... where some dickface can't just lay me off. And I get to watch TV and movies all day. Yay! Regardless, I'm going to officially declare myself reasonably employed. Deal with it.

My Etsy store is kind of rocking my own socks off. ~~Eight~~ Ten sales (plus working on a custom order) in two and a half weeks is preeeeetty impressive. Yep.

Though, I have to say, I put my buns into designing semi-sophisticated Disney princess jewelry, and then I tossed up some random plastic stuff that I was just screwing around with... and I almost cannot keep stock of Adventure Time earrings. I even had someone convo me "Hey, you got any more of those Jake the dog earrings?"

So I'm up to three dinglehopper necklaces and three Jake the dog earrings.

I also sold some Final Fantasy VI earrings yesterday.

So, yeah, pretty happy over here.

Sidenote: Also did a great job teaching chemistry. Creating equations for nuclear reactions? Puh. Easy.

Edit: Oh, and I totally took the advice (two posts ago) about the necklaces looking best on the text backgrounds, but with larger text. I like how they came out, and it's pretty easy photo set to work with. Thanks, guys!
