Anywho, enjoy and prepare for a lot of pastel colours

Alisa:

This first one is just a pallet swap of her default outfit. I like these colours much better. Her hair is also blue and pink, my two fave colours (although not necessarily those shades)


A simple top with some shorts. Her hair matches the outfit well, I think. I love her two toned hair


I call this one the "Ode to KOS-MOS." She even has the visor


This one is just a more playful look


This look is the most different look. I went for the "I'm a real girl" angle and I love it. The hair bow and the shoe soles matching her dress especially!


Asuka
(SPOILER)

This is her workout gear and some shorts made in to a more pastel look. I don't like her default hair but I kept it here


I really do love that different hairstyle on her so I use it a lot


I changed up her shirt colour, made it very pretty, and gave her some glasses just to be a bit different


And in this one I combined her more traditional look with her more casual one. I actually really like it!


Josie
(SPOILER)

Josie is another character whose default hair I do not like, so I gave her a new hairstyle here. This is the outfit my bf calls "The Yoga Instructor"


I did keep her default hair here though and gave her a kind of casual beach outfit


This one was more of a risk but in the end I ended up liking it


A casual workout hoodie. I love the colours


This is more of just a silly, fun one that I made


And finally, my favourite Josie outfit. It's also my bfs favourite outfit out of all of the ones I made! I took a pallet swap of her default top, changed her hair, and gave her some jeans


Kazumi
(SPOILER)

I find that she looks good in red especially so I did a red and black combo here. I love the skirt

Here I went for the more traditional Japanese woman look based on the items she has access to exclusively


I went with a different colour scheme here, and I gave her a tiger shirt because she has a tiger


And this is my favourite Kazami outfit and one of my favourite outfits in the game. I love the little hat and the shirt combined with those pants.


Katarina

I reaaallyyyy don't like Katarina's default look so in all of her looks I gave her darker hair and better glasses. I do like her default pants though so I kept them here and put a nicer top


She is supposed to be a sexy lady so I decided to show off her curvy lower half. I also much prefer the back of the shirt. The front looks off


Again, some nice shorts and a nice shirt


And this one I actually really like. I love how the bottoms of the pants match the shirt!


Lili (the character I main!)

This is a pallet swap of one of her classic outfits. Instead of grey though I made it a beautiful shade of pink that I am in love with. One of my absolute favourite colours. Also gave her a tiara because she's such a princess

And this is a very classy dress for her with a little hair accessory. I think it suits her well


Lucky Chloe

Yet another character whose hair I dislike, but I kept it here for a change. It's her default outfit but with the colours changed and without the jacket. I really like the red. Also gave her a tiara


I also kept her hair here so I could give her a giant bow. This is a more playful outfit and she has a little, flowy skirt


This is the second version of her default top, but with different pants that I think suit it well and a nicer, shorter haircut


A witchy outfit. I added some wings to be more playful


In addition to the witch stuff, I made her a special Halloween outfit. It's a special version of her default outfit but I added some pumpkins. She also has Halloween hit effects for her attacks


I definitely took a risk with this one and made her look much different, but I like it! She has a super pretty face when she's not tripping over her pigtails and I think the radically different hair helps bring that out


A more casual outfit but definitely one of my favourites


And here I took her default skirt and changed the top and added a hat to suit her more breakdance style. My favourite outfit for her


Nina

I took her wedding outfit but changed up the skirt


Here I just decided to have fun and do like an over-the-top secret agent look from a bad movie


And finally for this one, I took her wedding top and added some jeans to it. I really like the contrast and its my favourite outfit for her!


Xiaoyu

This is just a cute dress for her and I added a hair accessory to it

I took two of her default looks and combined them! I really like the colour of the top


Another fun one. I took her traditional top and added shorts. Then I added the hat because it made it so she has the cute side ponytail now

I like the crown on that one. The pants are nice too. Overall a bit too much red for my tastes but it's still very cute!



This is like sexy marching band. I don't like the back very much but I like the stockings and the jacket from the front



I mean this is just adorable. The shirts and the hat are a huge yes



I like the colours and I adore the footwear on that one. The little ice cream hat is cute too



A very soft pretty. I like the bows on the skirt and those boots are amazing



This whole outfit is just presh and the hair suits it well, I think. The hair accessory, the deign, the flowers. Just very pretty

I like this outfit from the back much more than the front, but it's pretty cute.



This is her default outfit. I like it better, especially the dress is very cute. I think they agreed with me because her outfit is very similar in Firis.

Now on to Plachta! Her outfits are actually determined by her stats, which is a super interesting idea.



Plachta's default outfit is... alright. Nothing super special, to me.



I'm not huge on the witchy outfit either except for the big pink bow in her hair!



I really like the asymmetry of the legs on this outfit, but the skirt looks kind of off to me from the front.



I really like the stockings and just the overall design of this one.



Cute white robes with a twist! I like how there's an exit for her ponytail out the back.



It's an adorable Christmas dress with ribbons, what else can you ask for?



My second favourite outfit, I really like the floral theme and the top. I think she looks very pretty!

First is the Wonderland outfit:


Ability: Reduce synthesis time




It was a pre-order bonus. While I do like it, it's my least favourite. I find it doesn't suit Firis the most.

Next is her default outfit:


Ability: None




This is her default outfit and it has no bonus abilities so you probably won't be seeing much of it for a while after the prologue. It's cute but overshadowed by her other outfits.

Next is the fox ears one:


Ability: Reduce time on the map




You get this one by meeting an old alchemist in the woods and returning later on to meet her after doing her tasks. Very useful in that it allows you to spend more time exploring. It's cute but I don't like the colours very much. I like her mushroom backpack though. If you notice, they even customized her backpack to each outfit!

Next is the fancy outfit:


Ability: Discount at shops




You evidently could use this outfit to get it because you buy it for a lot of money at a shop. I don't like the skirt but I think the rest is very pretty!

Then we have the winter outfit:


Ability: Lose less LP (stamina) in snowy areas




You get this one when you get to the snowy village. It's absolutely adorable, I love the whole thing, and a great example of changing outfits to suit the climate.

It was a tough call between the next two, but this is the beach outfit:


Ability: Raises chance of finding quality items




Another pre-order bonus outfit. The shirt, especially the sleeves, are pretty cute. The hat is really what makes the outfit so special though.

Next we have her alchemy dress:


Ability: Basically raises your ability to enhance your syntheses




You get this one from a camp event a little while after starting your journey. It was handmade by Firis' mother, which is so sweet. I love the diamond cutout sleeves and the big bow on her head!

And finally, my favourite of all, is her summer outfit!


Ability: Lose less LP (stamina) in the deserty areas. I think also extended breathe underwater time




You're given this outfit some time during your stay in the town where the ships aren't running. I love this outfit so much, it's adorable and precious. I love the hat and the shirt and the shorts and the bag. One of my fave video game outfits ever. EVER. It's a shame I get to use it most in the ugliest areas (I dun like desert areas)

Starting with Kasumi, we have a variant on her classic outfit.



Her classic outfit is white and blue, which is nice, but this one matches her hair ribbon better, I find. There's also a white and red/pink variation as well.



Speaking of which, this is the swimsuit version of her classic outfit, and I think it's neat that they took the outfit and made it in to a swimsuit.



I really like this one. It's not overly revealing and seeing baggier pants in this game is pretty rare. It also suits her well, the colours are nice, and it looks pretty comfortable.



A pretty yukata, I think the colours suit her well.



Very similar to Ayane's Christmas costume but the hat is slightly different. Still adorbs.



More ninja-esq outfits but I like that it's sexy without being overstated. It's not like it's conservative either but you don't need all of your bits hanging out all the time.

I think it's adorable and pretty and comfortable looking.

And my fav Kaumi outfit!



I don't know why I like it so much. I guess it's a take on her classic ninja clothes but the colours suit her well.

Next up we have Kokoro, my second fav character who unfortunately doesn't have a ton of outfits I really like.



A pretty Halloween dress. I like the braid in her hair, another reason I'm glad they let us change hairstyles because it adds that little touch, and I'm just a fan of the dress overall. Her stance also shows off the dress well because it's longer on the back than in the front.



This one is sexy detective Kokoro and I just find it adorable. The top is nice and I like the band on her leg. It just looks so adorably silly.



The ode to Tifa, I love this outfit. I especially love that top and I used to wear many like it and want to again when I get back in shape.



Another cute Halloween outfit, the dress is adorable, I like the touches of pink, and the heart shapes everywhere.



It was hard to pick a Kokoro favourite because this one and the previous two are some of my favourites just in the whole game, but I went with this one. It's pretty, it's got good highlight pieces, and the flower is another nice little touch.

Next up is Leifang, who stands super weird so excuse the odd poses in these pics. She's not one of my fav characters, either personality wise or to use, but she has a lot of good outfits in my opinion.



A colour variation on her classic outfit, this also comes in blue, red, and green/yellow, I believe. As for which one I like most, it depends on my mood! Her default hairstyle is also super cute.

Casino bunny style outfit


I just think the little vest top is super cute, honestly.



Her circus outfit which is just so fun. She has the hair ribbons and the circus tent style pants and everything.

Leather


Yeah she looks like she's a stripper dominatrix cop but I like the top and the one leg with the stockings. I'm a fan of asymmetry as I said before.

And I like outfits. Some of them are terrible, some are adorable. So for now I will be talking about some of my fav Dead or Alive outfits!

NOTE that some of these are NSFW because... well it is DOA. I will be sure to spoiler those for you.

I will start this edition with the characters of Ayane, Helena, and Hitomi!

First up, Ayane!



One good thing about the PS4 version is you get to change hairstyles~ She looks much better with the little ponytail, I think. For some reason, I just like this outfit. Maybe the mesh sides. I don't like the boots though.



This second one is cute mostly because of the hat. It's also not overly sexy, it's a cute little white dress that people might actually wear. It feels a lot more casual and comfortable too.



This one is especially good with the pigtails because it's kind of rough-around-the-edges with the chain-mail sides and everything and then she has little pigtails. I like it!

And my favourite Ayane outfit!!!



This is just precious. Especially the little snowman hood. She's so super srs all the time, so it's cute seeing her in a little Christmas outfit. I like the hood, the skirt, and AND, a trend you'll begin to notice is that I love bows. And there's a nice big red one here!

Next up is Helena who has a lot of good outfits.




First we have her classic outfit in both red and blue. I like the blue one slightly better but I think they both suit her well.



A Halloween outfit. I like the stockings and I like slit dresses. The shoes are nice too. Good, but not her best.



My biggest problem with this one is the boots, but overall it looks good on her. It suits her style while being something a bit different.



She's like... sexy cop. I really like the footwear.



A nice, classy little dress that's sexy but not overly so. Another one I can actually see people wearing.

Kinda risque


A very pretty but obviously very sexy and revealing dress.



The bf calls this the cake dress but I like it. It's like some Marie Antoinette stuff going on and I like that she just went for it.

Also a bit risque


I think the pink colour really suits her and the gold accents match her hair well.



This is super pretty and I really like the whole look.

Very revealing, but I think it suits her and it's sexy in a less vulgar way, in my personal opinion. I like the sheer fabric, it looks really pretty. It's actually my favourite outfit of hers!

And finally, for this edition, we will cover Hitomi!




Again, I LOOOVVEE that you can change hairstyles in the DOA5 PS4 version. I love the short hair on Hitomi. She also has a very casual pretty style, something real people wear, and I especially like the one without the jacket.



A Halloween one, obviously. I like the asymmetry and the little details like the stitching on her leg.



Another costume, pretty much sexy angel. It's cute but nothing special.



We also have Santa Hitomi. A lot of characters have this and she's one of the ones I think it suits well. Especially with the hat.



It's hard to see but Hitomi does karate and she has a karate bear on her shirt and it's great!



And my favourite Hitomi outfit! I love it. The shirt, the shorts, the footwear. Just... all of it!

So here are three more games that didn't make the cut but that you might still want to check out!

Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion (Formerly Spooky's House of Jump Scares)


Spooky's whatever you want to call it is a mixture of horror and comedy. You explore 1000 rooms in a haunted mansion with each section getting scarier and more challenging than the last.

Why it didn't make the cut: I am a huge scaredy-cat. I can't help it, I just am. So for a horror game to be worth playing for me, it needs to have a very strong narrative and characters to keep me pushing through the fear. While the story is kind of goofy and dun, it's very minimalistic which just doesn't give me enough of a reason to keep going.

Why/who should check it out: If you don't have the same fear issues as I do, this game is pretty good, especially since I think it's free. You'll get a lot of play time, it's fun, it'll give you some good laughs, and it even has some arcade machines to break up the monotony of going through 1000 rooms. If you like horror and want to try something new, definitely give this one a look!

Montaro


A little platformer game that has you controlling a cute little puppy across town while avoiding evil cats and birds and the like.

Why it didn't make the cut: Again, there's nothing really bad about this game, it just isn't anything great. It's good for some laughs here and there and it's fun to pick up for a few minutes when you want something lighthearted, but it doesn't make a lasting impression.

Why/who should check it out: I think the game is a dollar or two on Steam so if you want to play a silly little platformer, check it out. You can unlock different dogs to use and it's hard not to smile at least a little when playing. Playing with friends is recommended so you can hear gems like "Darn bananas making me lose all of my pantsu." Plus, it stars Doge. Doge is always relevant.

Always Sometimes Monsters


Kind of a (depressing) slice of life sim where you pick a character, pick a lover, and then promptly lose them and have your life go to crap. Now you need to make a journey across the country to see your partner and maybe get them to cancel their wedding instead of just... moving on with your life.

Why it didn't make the cut: The game had a lot of potential but it didn't quite live up to what it could have been. It was depressing and discouraging and it was hard to care about getting your old flame back when you really want to just move forward with your life and that isn't an option. For me it was just more of a bummer and a chore than anything.

Why/who should check it out: Just because I didn't enjoy the story doesn't mean others won't. Perhaps this kind of gritty "real people problems" is something you enjoy. It also has a lot of freedom in how you get to your objectives, the choices you make, and what type of person you'll become. In that sense, it's actually really great how different people will get different experiences as they play through. Adventure Time - Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?!!


The title is self-explanatory. The Ice King stole Fynn and Jake's garbage to make a... garbage princess. The game is a 2D platformer with an overworld map and some questing to do (get item A, bring to person X, etc). It of course takes place in the Land of Ooo and you will control Fynn while using Jake for certain skills.

Why it didn't make the cut: To me it just... wasn't fun. It wasn't bad really, but it did nothing special. The gameplay was average, the story was kind of uninteresting (they certainly could have come up with something better from the Adventure Time universe) and it just didn't do much to hole my interest or keep me playing.

Why/who should play it: Fans of Adventure Time might get a kick out of this if they have some extra money to spend. It does have the trademark humour of the series and had me laughing out loud on a few occasions. It's actually pretty affordable now so if you just want to take a little trip through Ooo, it might be worth the $10-12 dollar price tag.

The Fruit of Grisaia


The Fruit of Grisaia is a visual novel about some students with incredibly stylish school uniforms who all attend a special academy to deal with their unique histories and circumstances, as you'll uncover throughout the story.

Why it didn't make the cut: There are many things I liked about the game but it fought me when I tried to enjoy it. The protagonist is one of the least likeable people ever and, while I feel the heroines were strong, their stories didn't always do them justice. One was good, one was boring, two didn't live up to their potential, and one was actively bad and has left a bad taste in my mouth even now. It's not a bad visual novel, it just doesn't measure up to other VNs that I've played.

Why/who should play it: It has some really interesting heroines, as I mentioned, and even if the stories were mostly poorly executed, they did have intriguing and touching base stories to work off of. The game has a great sense of humour and can poke fun at itself and other VN tropes, which was great. There were a lot of great, funny moments. It has good graphics and cute chibis that show up sometimes. It does a good job of letting you get to know its characters and seeing their relationships grow and develop. If you like romance VNs this might be worth a look!

Dissidia (Dissidia 012) Final Fantasy


The Dissidia games are fighting game/action-RPG style thingamaboopers where characters from the various worlds all meet, chat, and fight and stuff.

Why it didn't make the cut: I just can't get in to it. I've tried so many times and I just... can't. I don't enjoy it, I don't have fun, it just feels lie a chore. I don't fully understand the battle system and it doesn't keep me motivated to learn it. I have heard it takes some time to get in to but I just can't get myself to play to that point.

Why/who should play it: Fans of FF might enjoy this. Who doesn't want to see some of their favourite FF characters interact in a story? Fan service at its finest. Some might also enjoy the unique style of gameplay and customization and such.

Oblivious Garden


This Chinese visual novel has you play as a famed hero stripped of his title and sent to a figurative bird cage where he must teach the Princesses how to fence. As expected, there is more to these ladies than meets the eye, and the game has four romantic routes for you to pursue.

Why it didn't make the cut: This game has a lot of potential, but it doesn't quite live up to it. The translation isn't great, which makes the already hard to follow story even more difficult to fully grasp. While you will get the gist of the story, it doesn't quite set out what it wanted to do and can read like amateur fanfiction.

Why/who should check it out: Visual novel fans might find it worth a try. The art is gorgeous and it does have a decent amount of length and several routes. While not perfectly told, the story is interesting and some might find it enjoyable.

Ar Tonelico Qoga


In this ARPG, you play as a young hero named Aoto who doesn't hesitate for a second to change his life around to save the special damsels in distress.

Why it didn't make the cut: Ar Tonelico Qoga also suffered from some amateurish writing on top of copious amounts of cringe and some creep factors. The gameplay was interesting, but not the most fun, and in the end, it just isn't good enough to stand out.

Why/who should play it: It's not a bad game, it actually feels pretty classical RPG in a lot of ways with all of its cheese. It's fun, I enjoyed the crafting, customization, and interesting music focus. It also had some interesting characters as well. If you like RPG's and want something different for a change of pace, it's worth it's affordable price.

Heavy Rain


In this interactive adventure mystery game, you play several protagonists as they attempt to solve the mystery of the Origami Killer who kills children by drowning them in rainwater. Your choices affect the game and all of that good stuff.

Why it didn't make the cut: Heavy Rain was fun, but not how it intended to be. It was like watching a terrible yet good movie. The voice acting was awful, some of the characters were rather flat, the main female character was put in something sexy in almost every scene, and overall it just lacked the emotional impact it could have had for me personally.

Why/who should play it: Fans of the interactive adventure/choose your own path type of games might like it. It is fun in that corny yet likeable sort of way and some of the characters were interesting. It's also fun to see how your choices and actions pan out, and the game did have a few emotional and touching moments to it. It's been a while since I made a blog post. I'm making my way through my to play list... slowly. Unfortunately, some games will not be making it on my top lists. I know, it's sad, but not every game can make the cut.

So this is a list of games that didn't make the cut (so far) that aren't actually BAD games, just not my flavour for whatever reason. I'll add more updates as I go along.

XCOM: Enemy Within


XCOM is a strategy RPG about aliens coming to invade Earth. You play as the Commander, mobilizing troops to fight off the alien invaders against tough odds and cheating computer.

Why it didn't make the cut: This game is too stressful for me, personally. The challenge level is high, even on easy, and the computer feels cheap a lot of the time.

Why/who should check it out: If you're in to strategy games, feeling like a badass, and difficult challenges, this may be up your alley. It definitely makes you think about your moves and makes you live with the consequences of your actions with the perma-death feature.

Dragonball Xenoverse


Make your own hero and explore the Dragonball Universe as you relive events of the manga/anime in order to prevent evil time people from undoing the past.

Why it didn't make the cut: While the game is fun, it really didn't stand out to me. It could also get a bit grindy at times and the gameplay felt repetitive to me. Also, they can have, like, 10 versions of Goku to choose from, but only a handful of females? And one of them is DLC? How about some more love for the women of the DB universe!

Why/who should check it out: Fans of the series should get a kick out of it. It explores a lot of the Z timeline and beyond, letting you relive some badass and great moments. You do get to make and customize your own avatar and interact with your favourite characters of the series. It's also a sizeable game, so you'll be getting your money's worth.

Nekopara Vol. 1


Play as a young man opening a bakery and moving out of his parents home in this visual novel. Before long, two of his cat girl pets sneak away to move in with him and help him run the bakery.

Why it didn't make the cut: This game was big on the creep factor, even with the sex scenes removed. You have a brotherly, or even fatherly relationship with these "pet" cat girls (all the human-cats are female SHOCKINGLY) and then they go in to heat and... yeah. Putting aside the creepiness of owning sentient beings.

Why/who should check it out: I'm not here to judge other people's fetishes and if cat girls do it for you (which seems to be a common enough thing), have at it. There are some sweet moments, some likeable characters, and the game looks really good. It's very adorable.

So I'm going to be making top games lists by genre. It'll take a long while (how long depends on each genre), but I'm going to list out the ones I still have to play in each genre.

But seriously, pigtails can look really good or really bad. I get very easily irritated at certain pigtail style. But there are some good ones too, regardless of age! I'm also including braided pigtails.

Should we start with a video game I haven't even played yet? Why yes, yes we should! It is sitting on my wishlist, but in the meantime:



Cute, pink, braided pigtails with complimentary outfit, yes.

Next we have little Ellis from Agarest War:



I don't like her pigtails when she's grown up because... well, hair doesn't grow THAT fast, and I also don't like super long pigtails most of the time. But tiny pigtails on tiny Ellis? Yes.

Is it the pompoms, the teeny hat, and the little braids? Yes it is.

Borderline dislike, and on most characters I would, but it just works for her.

While I find Clover in VLR to be creepy as all heck, she is adorbs in 999 and I refuse to believe it's the same person!!! Look at her, it's just hair everywhere!
