• Final Fantasy XI Economic Reform

According to RPGamer, Square-Enix is making changes to the world of Final Fantasy XI in an effort to hurt the gil selling industry. Beginning December 9, rare items will be much easier to acquire in Final Fantasy XI. For example, there will be additional Burning Circle arenas where rare items can be acquired for defeating opponents. It appears as though Square-Enix is trying to deter online "gil selling", or the sale of money or items within Final Fantasy XI for actual real-world currency. Allowing more access to rare items by new means will also certainly deter "camping" or "hogging" the enemies that drop them.
