• FFVII PC Early Release Blunder!

Over the past weekend a little early gem popped up for fans. Final Fantasy VII for the PC went up for sale for $12.70. There was no hype, no news of this releasing so early. It was just a sudden release so fans were ecstatic.

Unfortunately for those people who went ahead and purchased it, it didn't work! Square Enix was testing their new site for the FF7 PC re-release. They uploaded an unfinished version of the PC game for testing. Being the internet, people found their testing before they were able to appropriately assess it. This is what customers bought though, the unfinished version. There was a DRM issue and a lot of frustration.

If you were one of these eager fans, SE is offering a full refund as well as the download for the game when it officially arrives for free!

    Square Enix released a statement:

"This weekend, our teams were testing the product website for the upcoming relaunch of Final Fantasy VII on PC. While the website was being tested in its live state, a small number of people were able to purchase a pre-release build of the game. For those customers, Square Enix will be offering full refunds for the purchases and for their inconvenience, a free version of the classic Final Fantasy VII on PC when it is launched. We want to thank our community for their continued support and excitement regarding the upcoming rerelease of Final Fantasy VII. We will have more information to share about the launch of this anticipated title shortly."
They haven't said before when the FFVII PC release date will be but it may be closer than we think! That being said, it's great that they refunded the money and are working out the kinks to ensure a quality release of the game happens. When it does officially arrive, we'll be able to enjoy the game in all it's glory.

Head over to our forums to discuss the early release and it's messup!
