• Awesome Games Done Quick 2013




    The Speed Demos Archive is once again raising money by speed running through various games very quickly! Gathering donations for the Prevent Cancer foundation. A team of gamers, this year including our very own Denmark, will be quickly working their way through a various amount of games from Jan 6th through the 12th. In fact it's a whole whooping 115 games to be played!


    If you donate you may also have a chance to get some prizes! Some of the highlighted games are:

    Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World
    Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Zelda: Wind Waker
    Super Metroid, Zero Mission, Metroid Prime 1 and 2
    Mega Man 4, 9, 10, and X
    Metal Gear Solid 3
    Mike Tyson's Punch Out
    Castlevania 1 and 3
    Mass Effect
    Portal 2
    Doom 1 and 2
    Devil May Cry 3
    New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. Wii
    StarCraft 2
    Final Fantasy IX

    Of course there are many more than that but as you can see Final Fantasy IX is their very last game. That's right! After a week, FF IX will be there to end the whirlwind of gaming with a bang! If you're interested, there are various prizes you can win merely by watching and donating. The IX play will be separated into two time slots. Fri Jan 11 2013 09:25:00 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time) and Sat Jan 12 2013 16:05:00 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time). They must be trying for the Excalibur II! Let's hope they get it!

    During those times you'll have a chance to win prizes! During the first round of IX you can win:

    Zidane figurine, Garnet illustration, Distant Worlds signed CD, Black Mage perler, Final Fantasy Chronicles + Origins + Anthology w/ strategy guide, Chocobo plushie, Replica Wind Waker

    And During the Second round:

    Boxed copy of Chrono Trigger, Moogle plushie, Team fight illustration, Final Fantasy VII and VIII w/strategy guide, Zidane/Vivi/Garnet/Steiner figurines; Replica Wind Waker

      This looks really cool, and it's even for a good cause! It's certainly an ambitious schedule, and I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully Denmark will be one of the ones playing FFIX.

      I THINK I SPOTTED DENMARK! GO TEAM DENMARK! I dunno what he's going by in there so I dunno what he'll be playing but I think I spotted him and his team is up next, I think.
