• Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin New Jobs Reveal!

The Geomancer is coming to the Final Fantasy XI expansion pack, Seekers of Adoulin!

Geomancers are a type of mage who use magic to buff their fellow party members and take down their enemies! They use handbells as weapons and wear light tunic armour to protect themselves. A handy job to have in your party, as their special skill 'Terrain' allows them to use special attacks based on their surroundings.

In Final Fantasy XI, they will be a very welcome addition with their very handy Indicolure auras and Geoclure spells.

You can find out some more about the Geomancers here.

You could still salvage it by saying that new information about how Geomancer works have surfaced, or something, cause that happened yesterday. There are some details about that on the official Adoulin page.

      The article is fine.

That Geomancer costume is horrible. I'm very curious as to what Terrain would do.

Urgh, that hat gives hats such a bad name. It's a disgrace.

The hat is pretty terribad, yeah.

I kind of almost feel like jumping back in just to see how drastic the changes are going to be. I heard they're re-imagining a lot of the battle mechanics and foundations. But alas, I'll only have room for FFXIV in my life once it's released.

Geomancer's AF looks pretty terrible though. Looks like Scholar's but with a worse hat.

Apparently red mage as a job is dead. As cool as some of this stuff is, that probably means I'll never return.

That is not a hat. It's an upside down bedpan.

Who knows, it might get buffed again.

That's why I said probably. Then again, from what I hear, it seems that the dev team keeps trying to make it a melee mage, and that's not what I enjoyed about it anyway.

Nah, the dev team doesn't have any idea what they want to make RDM into. One day it's a "party support specialist", the other it's "enfeebling master", and their changes either don't put them near the top of the former, or the changes don't change the irrelevancy of RDM's unique enfeebling magics.

But yeah, occasionally they'll listen to the rdmelee enthusiasts too, which is fine. I think both RDM and WHM should be able to perform pretty close to a real DD on trash mobs, but still be significantly behind on content that matters.

Enfeebling specialist with party support was what I loved about red mage. Given that the brief look we've gotten at geomancer suggests that's what they're going to be, I still don't see RDM getting much. :/
