Yoshitaka Amano moves on to New Projects

The new artwork for the latest Vocaloid has been revealed. Vocaloid is a big Yamaha hit voice-synthesizer which has gained what one might argue as being cult popularity. The latest version Vocaloid 3 Library Zola Project has had popular artist Yoshitaka Amano working on the cover art.


Amano has commented on the characters he has drawn for the cover: "A sweet voice with an air of pathos and hidden despair," "a traditional voice with clarity and power," and "a lyrical, husky voice that sounds foreign." This is a slightly strange project for Amano, who drew much of the art for many of the games in the Final Fantasy series, but it is one I hope he has a lot of success with.

As well as working on the Vocaloid art, Amano has also been working on his own full length, 3D feature anime film 'Deva Zan' which is currently being produced by his own company Studio Devaloka. If you're really excited about Deva Zan, you'll be pleased to know that there is an illustrated novel currently available from Dark Horse Comics.


Vocaloid 3 Library Zola Project will arrive in late June.
