• Final Fantasy XIV Roundup: Beta Phase 3 Coming in June!

Here’s the latest updates for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn!

This weekend was the Nico Nico Chokaigi event in Tokyo, where more FFXIV info was released. Yoshi-P announced that phase 3 of FFXIV’s beta will start in early June. Phase 3 will also include the start of the beta for the PS3 version!

Yoshi-P also gave some new info on FFXIV’s gameplay and upcoming content. Notably, some limit breaks will become available in phase 3.

Regarding the upcoming phase 4, it has been announced that the current plan is for all characters from phase 4 to be transferred to the full launch version of ARR. However, that could change.

A new update on the developer’s blog revealed some screenshots from all-new cutscenes planned for A Realm Reborn:

    Kan-E-Senna.

    Garuda.

    A new character, Alphinaud.

Lastly, a reminder for Legacy members: if you want your name listed in FFXIV's Legacy credits, you need to register to do so. More details can be found at the Lodestone.

With phase 3 starting in early June, it looks like the ultimate release will not be until late summer, at the earliest. We’re a little behind schedule, but that was not totally unexpected; Yoshi-P and the FFXIV dev team have made it clear that they value getting it right over punctuality, so I say they should take all the time they need.

In the first announcement, Yoshi-P hinted that a new Producer Letter could be released soon with more info. We’ll keep you updated!
