• Final Fantasy X|X-2 December Release date

Square Enix has finally announced a released date for Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster. The Website for FFX|X-2 has been updated to reflect the Japanese release date which is slated for 12.26.13!

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster will be available on the Playstation 3 for 7,140 yen at retail and 6,400 yen as a PSN download. This will include the Eternal Calm and Last Mission from the International editions of Final Fantasy X and X-2. It will come with enhanced audio and end credits.

The Vita will have the two games shipped separately. Each will have the respective Eternal Calm and Last Mission on the games. The Extra Audio will be include in both games as well. Each title will each cost 3,990 yen at the retail price and 3,600 yen as a download.

Even though both are shipping separately, fear not vita owners, there will be a Twin Pack available on the Vita. The price for the Twin Pack will be 7,140 yen at the retail price and 6,400 yen for the download. That is the same about for the two games on the PS3.

There hasn't yet been an announcement on the western release but to sedate your hungry appetites have some HD promotional pictures from the new website.

Are you excited about this remaster? Aren't those pictures gorgeous? I want them everywhere. When do you think the western release will be?

I like the look of those HD promotional pictures, they're very ethereal. The water-like look to them makes me wonder what it will be like to play Blitzball in HD

If I recall correctly western releases tend to only be a few months behind, so I'm hoping for an early 2014 release.

Do you think we'll get the FFX/X-2 themed Vita handheld? For now I plan on buying the PS3 release. There aren't enough games I enjoy to justify buying a Vita at the moment, but if some more new and interesting releases come out, than this is the version of the system I would want.

Well, what do you know, they're going to make that 2013 release after all.

Hopefully the US release won't be long after. I can't wait!

So, I legit just realised that the renders are spruced up versions of one of the original FFX artworks.

I really wish they had gigantic res versions of those renders. Like 5000x3000

Nothing has ever made me hate Tidus more than the face he is making in that picture.

      (Beautiful picture of Yuna, though!)

      These are gorgeous...

But I have to say I'm not a huge fan of this new, pretty feminine lookin Tidus.

dye his hair brown, grow it out, and it's just a taller Yuna.

New feminine? He always looked like that, he was just not in as high res before.

Also thanks freya, those look wonderful

      NA just confirmed for 18 March 2014 - Playstation.Blog
EU just confirmed for 21 March 2014 - Square Enix Europe on twitter

Worth noting this is explicitly the PS3 version; no confirmation for Vita versions of yet.
