• FanArt Friday! Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week #108 - Part One!

It's FanArt Friday! Welcome to another edition of Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week, where we show the best of the best from DeviantArt! Last week we had some top drawer talents showing us what they can do, and this week we'll see a new set of artists get a chance to show off their skills. There has been so much incredible art out during the past week that this showcase will be spread over two parts. To make things a little more interesting, I have split it between digital and traditional art. But you're not here for the text... let's get on with the art!

    Chocobo by kenket

First up we're going straight to an adorable chocobo, because who doesn't like chocobos!? Personally, as you may tell from my avatar, I am a massive fan of Square Enix's creature creations and chocobos file in at #1 on that list. Tess, aka Ket, has also recently created a beautiful Red XIII art piece that is well worth checking out!

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix Assorted Art 2 by Nick-Ian

The second of our five traditional pieces is this wonderful watercolour work by the highly talented Nick-Ian. I'm a long term fan of his incredible creativity, and am really proud to be able to finally get his art onto the showcase. You can really see his talent in these smaller images, and this is actually the second of a Kingdom Hearts 2.5 set - you can see the first part here. It's well worth checking out!

    Ignis by AgentPummel

Looking forward to Final Fantasy XV? I sure am! I can't wait to get my hands on the demo that comes with Type-0. For this piece, I particularly like the incredible work with colours (dat shirt), although the linework is also top drawer. This is actually one of a four-piece set, and you can check out the full grouping here. Ignis is my favourite art piece of the four, but that is no disservice to the other three which are all well worth a peek!

    Kakao #259 Doomtrain by YachiruKusajishi

All aboard the Doomtrain! Actually, perhaps that's a bad idea, considering you might get all kinds of diseases from getting too close to this spooky-looking locomotive. Doomtrain is nevertheless a really popular Guardian Force in FFVIII and I don't think anyone would mind if it made a comeback in future Final Fantasy games. This is one train even Sabin probably wouldn't want to hang around!

Snow and Serah Final Fantasy by TsumikiArt

A late sketch for Valentines, but I feel the style used on this artwork is subtle and yet strikingly effective. I'm a big fan of Snow and when you see him and Serah together, you can definitely feel the love. I think Tsumiki has captured this really well!

Free Tonberry Crochet Pattern - Final Fantasy by GamerKirei

Now it's time for Cosplay of the We-- wait a minute, that's not a cosplay at all! That's a craft. Ah, but what a craft it is! With us having two parts to this week's showcase I felt it a great opportunity to shine a light on those hard working crafters out there, in this case GamerKirei has put together a tonberry crochet pattern you can all make use of. Just be careful when you place them proudly in your bedroom... these little critters are deceivingly cute, but genuinely dangerous. Oh, and don't worry - Cosplay of the Week will be in part two of this week's showcase, so keep checking back today!

What do you think of all these wonderful pieces? Are you on DeviantArt? Do you have any favourite artists there? Let us know by leaving comments on this article and, of course, click the photos to be taken to the respective DA pages so you can leave comments for them, too! Finally, if you're registered on DeviantArt, be sure to follow the EyesonFF DA Group!
