• FanArt Friday! Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week #108 - Part Two!

It's FanArt Friday! Welcome to another edition of Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week, where we show the best of the best from DeviantArt! In Part One we showed off some awesome traditional art, and for the next part of this week's double-whammy showcase we'll see some digital artists get a chance to show off their skills. But you're not here for the text... let's get on with the art!

Another Yuffie fan art by chaosringen

The moment I first saw this artwork I knew it was going to be in the showcase. Absolutely beautiful artwork of Yuffie Kisaragi, she actually looks like she's not a terrible, annoying materia thief in this image! But seriously, the face is stunningly good, the brushwork excellent. Nguyen - aka chaosringen, who last appeared in our showcase around Christmas - aimed to make her look a little more grown up, and I do believe that he's achieved this to great effect.

    Trance Kuja by Midorisa

Another returning artist, Midorisa has earned plaudits at EoFF before with Kuja artwork and I suspect she may do so again - a very different style to her last work of the FFIX antagonist, yet still strikingly beautiful. The colour work, and the work on the feathers in general, really gives Kuja that peacock vibe that reflects his attitude so well.

Sprigann from Final Fantasy by Shuichi252

Polish artist Shuichi was roaming around the world of Eorzea when she discovered Spriggans and she was inspired to create this artwork. I have a love-hate relationship with Spriggans, personally... I love them until I have to fight them! They have this weird look that is both cute and evil at the same time, and I feel Shuichi - real name Patrycja Osowska - has captured this expertly.

Identity / Zidane in Bran Bal by CoffeeCat-J

CoffeeCat-J was one of the artists involved in the Final Fantasy VII: Moments project and although she was already awesome with her art then, I can't help but feel every time I look at more of her artwork she is improving notably. Two months down the line and we have her producing Zidane artwork of this high quality! The J in her username is for Joana, and she loved Bran Bal particularly for the story developments and the music you hear upon reaching this area. Not done with her Zidane art this week, she also produced a Love Letter art piece for Valentines Day!

Final Fantasy Bestiary Malboro by Noe-Leyva

Who loves Malboro? What? Nobody? Is it something to do with Bad Breath? Figures. But seriously, I love the Malboro design and consistency throughout the Final Fantasy series. As much as I might run from a lot of the battles, it really is a staple of the franchise that makes you feel like you're truly playing a Final Fantasy game every time you face one. Noe is pretty hyped up about FFXV, and with quality designs like this, you'd think he was in the Square Enix art team! If you like this, check out more bestiary pieces and Final Fantas art by the American artist.

Final Fantasy Type-0 by Meo Chan (cosplay) and Shinkarchuk (photography)

Time for Cosplay of the Week! It was really tricky to pick out which image to go for this week... do I go for this Shinkarchuk photograph of Meo Chan recreating Type-0 character Sice, or this one, or this one, or... okay, basically this cosplay is awesome and the photography is amazing. Seriously. The venue was a great choice, the colour work is incredible, the hairstyle looks real yet still straight ouf a video game, the costume is immaculate, the weapon badass, the poses are on point, the angles chosen bring out the best of all of the above. All round, this is one of the best cosplay shoots I've seen, I can't fault a single part of it. Well done to the two artists involved, they've outdone themselves!
