• New Final Fantasy VII Remake Info: Epsiode 1's scenario is finished

    Famitsu just ran an article on the remake of Final Fantasy VII and gave us some new tidbits. Let the hype/backlash commence.


    - We'll get to explore all the parts of Midgard.

    - The story is going to develop Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie a little more.

    - SE is not sure how many Episodes there will be at this point.

    - No word on any online features yet.

    - The Main Scenario for the first part of the multi-series is complete.

    - The game is using the Unreal Engine 4 and the KH team is apparently helping develop it.

    - The addition of VA work means that Cloud's "voices" will be more interesting and meaningful.

    - Expect most of the Advent Children VA cast to reprise their roles.

    - The "ATB Gauge" that fills up and turns red is special and not associated with Limit Breaks.

    - SE has a new element to the battle system they haven't shown yet that will change combat depending on the player's play style.

    - They have yet to decide if their will be a Guard command.

    Thoughts?

      I don't really get the big deal with Aerith's VA is. She had like a handful of lines compared to the major players, hardly enough to judge her acting ability. I'm more annoyed that Cid is forever going to be a redneck hick southern accent when he should have been voiced by this old guy:

      Vince is voiced by this guy Sorry, wrong guy XD

      Mena Suvari also voiced Aerith in KH2 and it was just as bad. Really, Bowen was the only one that sounded in any way real.

      Again, not a huge scene and not enough to really tell. To be fair, the VA work of most of the FF characters feel phoned in for the KH series. I didn't start liking Squall's VA until Dissidia. Not to mention that I hate Hedy Burress' portrayal of Yuna in every incarnation cause she always sounds like she's whispering so as not to offend the men, but was pretty surprised to learn she a rather good portrayal of ass kicking Agrias Oaks in War of the Lions.

      Chances are, that whoever did Aerith's VA for her last speaking role will get the role.

      Yeah, Agrias had a pretty phenomenal voice. It's amazing what good voice direction can do.

      They'll probably make it some DLC/Pre-Order bulltrout.

      How are they going to do that on a console where you can't open the disc tray while fighting the Midgar Zolom? Sure, they could put a throwback in with a different mechanic, but it won't be the same...

      Expanding the Midgar section may be pretty cool, but I feel like that's the only part of the game that could be substantially expanded. Hopefully the other episodes roughly follow the pace of the original game and they don't draw this out to be a 200 hour game.

      The most worrisome part is, are they going to finish it when each of the parts sell fewer than the first?
