• Happy Birthday, Tietra Heiral!

Tietra would celebrate her birthday today. But she can't. Because she's dead.

    Oh yeah: spoilers.

And that's where we come in to remind everyone of this poor, unfortunate soul! Tietra is the sister of Delita Heiral, the Deuteragonist/Antagonist/Anti-Hero/Anti-Villain/je ne sais quoi of the game. Needless to say, her death is a big turning point in the game, though little attention is given to her as a character. But what we do learn of her is pretty sad.

Tietra's only friend was Alma Beoulve, Ramza's sister who, just like her brother, treats Tietra on equal terms depite her being of lower birth. Due to the kindness of Alma and Ramza's father, Lord Barbaneth, Tietra and Delita could enjoy a certain degree of luxury, and thus Tietra could attend the academy with Alma. Sadly, though she hid the fact from her brother, she was not treated well by her other peers, and her being mistaken for nobility was what ultimately lead to her demise, and Delita's disillusionment.

How do you think averting Tietra's death could have change the course of the game? Do you think there might have been something Ramza could do to save her life in the end? Let us know in the comments!

Tietra's death underlines one of the most important parts of life, that it isn't fair.

Though technically speaking if they hadn't gone to Dorter against orders they never would have gotten their achievements recognized and would have still been defending the castle when the attack happened, But the cause and effect there is so remote that it is equally possible that staying at the castle would have caused something equally bad to happen.

Bottom line, Ivalice sucks to live in.
