Your signature fits this so well. But holy kittens. Theres no better way to secure all ff games than getting them all in one for one console. I wondr what ports of I-VI will be us though

Probably good to take this with a healthy dollop of skepticism. Unless this is going to cost a heckin' lot.

I already have all of those games, and the XII remake is just going to be the same game with improved graphics as far as I'm aware, so I probably won't bother with it. I just want VII Remake. I want new content! Stormblood and VII Remake are my current big things for Square Enix. I'm already pondering when we'll hear them declare XVI is being worked on, too.

      Two words:

      Zodiac Job System

I get that's in there, but for me it's not a big deal. I don't believe it comes with additional dialogue of any kind that builds upon the world or whatever. Plus, I can already get the Zodiac Job System and have been able to for a long time now. To justify the price of a full game, I want a new full game experience. Maybe I'll get the Zodiac version someday though. Just not anytime soon... I'd rather complete III & IV, the two I've yet to finish.

But you have beaten III. With 24 people

But the Zodiac Job System completely changes the gameplay. It's way different to what you could do before, and many more aspects of the gameplay and balancing have been changed. Chests, for example, work completely differently. Not to mention you get many other additional things like fighting all the judges in one battle.

It's really way more than a simple graphical update. Way richer than FFX HD.

I get that, but as I mentioned, if I cared that much for that kinda stuff then I'd have bought the copy that already exists for it a long time ago.

Honestly for all I know I already have the Zodiac Job System.

The main thing for me when getting a new game isn't items nor battle system. It's dialogue, new gameplay systems (I'm talking the likes of the fishing minigame in FFXV, not "a new fight" or "a new battle system"... literally new things to do) and world building. I like gameplay, don't get me wrong, but I'm not going to shell out additional money for a different battle system. It probably doesn't help that I didn't care for the original battle system a huge amount, and my understanding of the Zodiac system is that it doesn't change the particular things I disliked about that system - particularly gambits.

I think the big deal is that we in the West have never had access to it. So unless you were willing to shell out for the Japanese PS2, second copy of the game, etc - the Zodiac System is not something you could have gotten a hold of with any ease. But yeah, if you don't care about that side of things, then it won't be worth it.

Oh. I thought it was for all PAL regions. Probably because of the name featuring the word "International" which I guess was actually just there for the sake of irony.

No, it's because the game comes with English voices. Hence it's international for the Japanese consumers. Hence - "International". =P

Oh, so I can get hold of it then. It sounded like it was in Japanese from the Japan-only thing. I dunno! Either way yeah if I could have played it by now and wanted to then I probably would have.

      It is Japan only.

      I meant Japanese-only, I guess. The language.

Modding a PS1/2 back in the day isn't something I did but it was certainly very cheap as my NZ pals had done so.

It also alters gambits slightly in that it gives you access to a lot more of them from the beginning

Oh, I just didn't like having to set them up. =/ I'm more of a on-the-fly kinda guy rather than someone who wants to spend ages prioritizing certain things. My gambit system during my playthrough of FFXII was extremely simple and if I needed something not on it I just did it manually.
