Seriously. I don't even have the game yet!

Whose bright idea was it to bring limited time events to non-MMO games?

Yeah, this looks fun and cute, but me and Mr. Carny don't have FFXV yet.

Oh yeah, I can see why this was top priority. Just what this game was missing! Now it will be the greatest Final Fantasy of all time I withdraw every bad word I ever said.

Anyone else played it? It's not bad for what it is. If you're expecting something mind blowing or enhances the story in any way - I don't know why you would - you'll be disappointed. It's an hour (or more if you want to grind prizes) of fun and light hearted content. A lot of the old mini games are back (eg new chocobo courses) but there's also a couple of new ones that require different skills such as memory games and riddle solving.

There's a couple of nice references to older games such as a Moogle theme remix and a quest is called (SPOILER)Interrupted by Fireworks.

Also, order a dessert at the Square-Enix cafe. Trust me.

I'm pretty sure Tabata already mentioned there being short term, mid-term, and long term plans in regards to FFXV. Obviously, the more impacting things are probably going to be in the mid-term and long term plans, while events like this carnival are short term. I'm starting to see a pattern with the vocal part of the fanbase.

This is really dumb for a non-MMO.

damn, i haven't even made it to Altissia in the main story yet, that's my next chapter and i don't want to break sequence by visiting a carnival in Altissia before the Story part takes me there... Catch22... dunno why devs treat these things like everyone's a speedrunner...

If it helps, it's a totally separate instance of Altissia!

Does anyone know how early in the game you can access this? It'd be a right shame to miss it!

It's available on the main menu rather than through the actual game, so I'd imagine right away. You need to have a save file to sync it to (so your goodies and rewards get transferred) though.

But I guess it would be pretty weird to visit Altissia as part of the festival before you get to go there in story, wouldn't it

Yeah, it would take away some of the wonder of "oh my god look at this cool new city I've reached" which they go pretty hard on.
