      That Steelbook art is gorgeous.

Unfortunately, I hate Steelbooks with a burning passion and so I won't be getting it.

      Why you hate them?

I just prefer original cases for games. Most of my game cases are original, and if I got Steelbook cases, they would stick out like a sore thumb in my collection of games.

The collectors edition is ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS. That's just nuts.

But damn that bust set of the judges looks nifty.

Same price as the CE for the upcoming FF XIV expansion Stormblood. =/ The prices for SE's CEs are gettign kinda ludicrous...

The Limited Edition is reasonably priced though. If you like steelbooks.

I quite like those Judge Magister busts tbh. I expect the final version will be crummy plastic, but if they were metal I might seriously consider dropping the money on a Stupid Edition.

Also, when they say it includes the 'Original Soundtrack' do they mean the ENTIRE soundtrack or just 'a small selection of tracks.' Most of the time it's the latter and it makes me mad - a full soundtrack would genuinely interest me but I have no time for a 'selection.'

The Judge Magister busts remind me of chess pieces. A Final Fantasy XII edition of chess would be neat!

Amen. If it were made well enough I probably would pay good money for it too.

For that money, they'd better not be plastic!

For that money I'd say there's no way they aren't plastic.

What exactly is in the steelbook? A guide? Seeing updates like this only refreshes my excitement for the game.

Pre-ordered this the second I heard it was available. This is the first FF release I've been excited for in years.

I think the "steelbook" is simply the game case. It look similar to the steel case for the collector's edition for when XII first came out.

I would imagine that it's been used for other FF's since as well.

Yeah, a steelbook is basically the game case but with fancy metal. Mr. Carny has one for ME: 2, with the collector's edition. They are a nice touch, but they can look awkard in a video game shelf, especially if they're bulky.

Apparently it is Steelbook® though. Wasn't aware Steelbook was a brand name as opposed to a general term.
