Baaj Temple | Dive into the water at the North of this area and swim down to the temple entrance. A monster, Geosgaeno, will appear. You may remember him as the same monster that Tidus narrowly escaped near the start of the game! In this battle you will only be able to use Tidus, Rikku and Wakka, because it is an underwater battle. It will be useful to have protection against petrification and death here. If one of your party is swallowed, you can use the Struggle trigger command which will injure Geosgaeno and make him regurgitate his victim. Geosgaeno has 32767HP and 128MP. You can steal Water Gems from him, and after the battle you may receive 2 power spheres. You may also win a weapon for Tidus which is equipped with the No Encounters ability, and some armour equipped with the Auto-Reflect ability. |
Sanubia Sands | You will find a chest here containing the Ascalon sword for Tidus which has the Double AP ability equipped. |
Besaid Falls | The chest here contains Kimahri's Dragoon Lance which has Magic Counter, Evade & Counter and two free slots. |
Mi'hen Ruins | To the left here there is a chest with Rikku's Sonar weapon in. This has the abilities Initiative and Poisonstrike, along with one free slot. |
Battle Site | A little way north from the Save Sphere you will find a chest containing a Phantom Bangle for Lulu, with the abilities Ice Eater, Fire Eater and Water Eater. |
Omega Ruins | This great network of caves contains new monsters and challenges, and the only save sphere is located at the entrance. This is a good place to fight if you want to gain gil quickly, because there is a Mimic monster and defeating this will gain you 50,000 gil or 100,000 gil if you have the Gillionaire ability. Mimic monsters appear as treasure chests. If you enter a battle and find yourself facing another monster and a treasure chest, make sure to Steal (not Mug) from the treasure chest first. You may receive items, but more often than not the treasure chest is a Mimic in disguise. The Omega Ruins also contains the extra bosses Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon. |
Godhand | This will take you to Mushroom Rock (Valley). Use the Celestial Mirror to open the chest to the north of the valley. This chest contains Rikku's Godhand Celestial Weapon. |
Victorious | This will take you to Besaid Ruins 1 (Ancient Road). The treasure chest here contains the Victorious armour for Rikku. This armour protects her against Lightning, Fire and Ice. |
Murasame | This will take you to Besaid Ruins (Ancient Road). Here you will find a chest containing Auron's Murasame sword. This sword has the One MP Cost ability. |
