    PAL-Specific Features

The PAL version of FFX released for Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other such locations that use the PAL colour encoding system in their televisions was given additional features to the NTSC version found in Japan, America, Canada etc. The differences are detailed on this page. Please, before you go hunting for a PAL copy of FFX, make sure you have a television that can play them - if you live in America, Canada or Japan, for example, there's a good chance that you don't.

    Abilities

    • Full Break: All four breaks (Power, Magic, Armour and Mental) inflicted on a chosen enemy at once. Uses 99 MP.
    • Quick Pockets: Use a normal item (for example, a Potion) with decreased recovery time. Uses 70 MP.
    • Pilfer Gil: Steal Gil from enemies, much like you use the Steal command to steal items. Uses 20 MP.
    • Nab Gil: Steal Gil and attack enemies at the same time, much like the Mug command to steal items. Uses 30 MP.

    Miscellaneous

    • Quick Hit requires 36 MP to use, and is about half the speed (in terms of recovery time) compared to the US and Japanese versions.
    • The requirements for Zanmato are more easily met.
    • The Dark Aeons and Penance are exclusive to the PAL/International versions. They are optional super bosses, resembling your own aeons. Penance has more HP than any other boss in the Final Fantasy series (a whooping 12 million), almost completely maxed stats, 2 arms that keep regenerating, and takes around 40 minutes to beat.
    • Omega Weapon has 999999 HP, and not 99999 like the NTSC - U/C and the NTSC - J versions.
    • You can successfully bribe for 10x max HP off a fiend, instead of 20x in the other versions. However, you will get substainually less items and the success rate of a bribe lowers dramatically. If you miss the first time, just just bribing 1 Gil over and over until the fiend takes it.
    • The PAL version comes with a bonus DVD that has interviews with the voices actors for Tidus and Yuna, and a few of the Square staff.
    • The International version also has bonus DVD, showing "Another Story". It is a small clip about FFX-2, basically.
    • Oblivion, Tornado and Delta Attack all hit multiple times in the PAL/International versions (16, 2 and 6 respectively).
    • Behemoth will not use Meteor if you capture him.
    • Wakka's Attack Reels get an attack bonus if you stop the slots quickly.
