There's plenty of work in Archaeology outside of Ireland so if I do decide to do it I'll have to leave the country once I graduate. I'm planning to take my next stint in uni more seriously try & get very high grades & maybe do a Masters to improve job prospects. Rocking the boat is one thing but swaying it might make me sea sick I didn't punch him because I haven't seen him since, he told me he was quiting via Facebook chat & within 24 hours of that he was gone :/
Makes sense! But make sure there is a job for that too xD Or you'll be left in the same boat! And it might not be a rockin' Unless you in fact make it sway.... which you could. Did you punch him? I'd have punched him.
I figured a Law degree would help me get a job decent enough to support me while a play music in my spare time but thanks to the recession here there aren't any job I'm qualified to do :/ My other option is to go bk to study for another 8 months to qualify to practice as a lawyer but that costs 13grand so that's not really an option for me :/ So I decided if I go back to uni I'm doing something I like & I love history & archaeology I was most annoyed with my last band because the other 2 members were professional studio musicians & one of them was quite well connected. We got booked to play a showcase & the week before it our drummer quit to take a job as an electrician in London. I was so gutted I almost quit playing music.
Archaeology? You'll study pots and stuff! Heh! But.... you spent all that time for a law degree xD Crazy! That sucks about the band thing though. I haven't ever really been a musician or even with a musician so I don't know the plights of it. I imagine it's hard to get a foothold in it though.
German teacher huh? Cool! I have a degree in Law but I don't want to be a lawyer anymore because there isn't many legal jobs here in Ireland at the moment & I don't really want to spend my life in a stuffy office! I'm hoping to go back to uni in 2012 & study Archaeology hopefully! For the last 2 years I've been trying to make my hobby as a musician into a career but I've had very little success with bands. I've been in 4 in the last year :/
It's sooooo lame! Stupid 21ness. I was a journalism major before I had to quit. I wanted to be a newswriter. I had done it in highschool with good results. (1st in state awards etc) I love to write but it was turning into my hobby as my job and I didn't want to even do what I enjoyed anymore. I'm hoping to go back here within the next semester or so though. Then I'll hope to become a German teacher
I have to say I've always seen drinking alone as an absolute no no myself! Legal drinking age in the US is 21 isn't it? I'm 23 so even that wouldn't me at this stage What did you study in college if you don't mind me asking?
No that stereotype is pretty spot on xD Thus why I hate it here. I don't drink much but that's cause I don't go out and drinking alone is lame! Actually i'm also not legally able to drink for another monthish over here. I did do some when i was in college. :P
Do I really drink lots? I probably drink more then the average person on a night out but compared to back in college I don't really drink as much anymore! I've curtailed my drinking to weekends only in recent times & I feel much healthier lol I would say I probably have a bad temper, but I'm very chilled out in general, so at least that stereotype isn't strictly true Speaking of Oklahoma (stereotype question of my own), is it wrong that I think hill billy wearing a straw hat & drinking moonshine when someone mentions Oklahoma or that terrible musical of the same name
