Every day that politics happens - and therefore every time something stupid/bad/etc happens in politics - I just feel like we should get you a superhero outfit and have you save the world. It's not that easy though.

I've done that a few times in class because, surprisingly, I'm usually one of the more intelligent students. Intelligent enough to be able to bull and seem really smart.

I got a little bit of a chuckle out of those. I've heard them before, but it never gets old. My training squad is full of girls who love to run long distance so I get to hear "cross country" and "fun" in the same sentence without any negative qualifier. ...going out on a limb there because I'm not 100% sure that's even a real grammatical term.
"Competent government" is one of those oxymorons like "military intelligence" and "business ethics."
I would love for some competent world governments, but I think that's asking too much.
