Oh, just realized I forgot to respond to you (I intended to research the issue a bit to find out wtf you were talking about, but got busy and forgot about that too xD). To be honest, I have absolutely no idea. But generally, most proposed bills never make it to law. To begin with, most states have a two-house legislature, and both need to approve of a proposed bill by majority vote. Second, each house has committees that focus on certain kinds of issues, and proposed bills can get backed up in committee for a whole host of procedural reasons, especially if the committee chair doesn't like the bill. There could also be special interests at work, with people/businesses against having UFC in New York (maybe boxing worried about competition?) lobbying against it. These are only general thoughts; I have no idea what's been going on specifically with this bill. But it's not at all surprising for a bill that has some support in part of the state legislature to end up going nowhere.
Yo dude, any chance you can explain to me exactly how the UFC keeps being illegal in new york? every year I read about it being passed through senate or some trout and then it gets dropped at the same stage for some poncy reason even after getting voted to go to vote by a large percentage or something. the whole thing is insanely confusing to me and i don't understand the process. not that i really care about UFC in new york, i just wonder what exactly the process is and why it fails every year despite seemingly large support

haha nah Big Nog is probably my favourite fighter of all so I was all for him in that fight. still was great imho also sweet, although 103 wasn't quite as good as 102. A crapload of stand and bang which was fun but the fights got less interesting as the card progressed. :{
