Conversation Between Fynn and Pumpkin

  1. Well, I just beat Devil Survivor today! Overall, I have mixed feelings. What I stated about it before pretty much stands throughout the whole game. I'd say it's a pretty good game, especially in the gameplay department, but the story and characters were really... not doing it for me. The premise is very interesting, but the delivery is sub-par, especially for a MegaTen game.

Overall, i feel kinda weird. We attended this animation festival this weekend (explaining Award Dude's absence) and it was all pretty damn good. Overall much better than last years where I had to suffer through the insanely hard to watch and utterly incomprehensible Asparagus, but last year's high points were overall better, I think. So last year's festival was pretty uneven, while this year's was more stable, even if it failed to reach such heights. Two films were particularly impressive - one of which was Canadian, btw The Canadian one would've probably been my favorite if the ending didn't consist of like two cfompletely unnecessary sentences that just hammered in the whole point of the movie, instead of leaving it nice and subtle. Instead it was as if the author was saying "Do you get it? Are you sure you get it? BECAUSE I DON'T THINK YOU GET IT!"

The other one I almost got into an argument about with someone by the cake stand as they said "Yeah, it had very good imagery, but there was really no story there". That had me like: To sum it up, it was a post-apocalyptic city where one man stayed and in general tried to live out his daily life, completing his rituals like going to work and stuff, as if trying to ignore the fact that none of it matters anymore and he should probably try and move on by finding where all the others went (it looked like the apocalypse was some sort of war with bombings and stuff, and the town is completely emtpy aside from him). So over the course of the film, his resources are lower and lower, and he has this weird dream/flashback of the home where he lived with his wife and kid, and stuff. There's also tons of wild animals escaped from the zoo with one skinny lion being particularly prominent, in my interpretation representing exactly what the guy stands for (I won't tell you everything exactly, though, as if I manage to find it, I'll link it to you). And like, is that not a story? No dialogue and no backstory doesn;t mean there is no plot or story. There is clear progression, of both character and environment, so how is there no story? Ugh, PEOPLE!

Sorry that was ranty XD I think I feel good in general, but it appears that some things just irritate me more than usual for some reason.
  2. Being lazy instead of folding laundry. How are you?
  3. So what's up, BEST MEMBER?
  4. Cute xD
  5. So today in FFXIV we encountered this little Lalafell player with the name of Moist Falafel. That's funny on its own, but it's even funnier for me because I was planning on making falafels tomorrow. So I approached him and said I love falafels and he waved and cheered at me before going off. It's times like these that make MMOs feel worth it
  6. Oh neat! I actually haven't played my copy since I last told you about it. Kinda lost interest. Will probably retry it someday.

It's also annoying how it won't run completely smooth with better graphics on my computer because I have a beast. FFXIV runs perfectly on max details, so it's dumb
  7. I finally got FFXIII-2 as I've been meaning to do for the past like 2 years. I won't be playing it right away but soon enough probably
  8. Awesome!
  9. So we started XIV and here are our kitties!
