Conversation Between Loony BoB and Jiro

  1. In reply to your rep: No, it wouldn't be cheaper. Well, it wouldn't be cheap enough for our budget, anyway. We're just trying to get one of the "£200 off" deals you can find at wedding fairs, so fingers crossed we get a good one.
  2. It would really be the icing on the cake for you, so hopefully it goes well! I wonder if we should get that EoFF email account registered with SE NA and EU so we get those kinds of emails into a central location and nobody has to physically let the group know. I've been checking the SE blogs occasionally but as (the rest of) Oceania is kind of unimportant to them I haven't bothered with an account. I'm sure your friend from the Fat Chocobos won't mind you saying hello, I have faith that your social skills won't ruin his date

I think you've got sensible plans financially, so I have faith that your wedding will be kickass and then your apartment will be swish and everything will be awesome. Just a matter of time, is all!
  3. Our news team might not have spotted it, but it was on our homepage thanks to the SE Twitter feed. xD But yeah, it was emailed out to all the SE EU members so I imagine it will be pretty numerous in applicants anyway. Just gotta hope I get really lucky. Imagine that, 2nd November I go to London for the event, then fly back and on the 4th I see Distant Worlds and might even meet someone I know on FFXIV there (found out that we're both going by sheer coincidence, he's one of the prominent members of the Fat Chocobos LS), although he'll be on a date so might be best to leave him be. Either way, what an amazing few days it would be.

Perhaps after the wedding Danielle and I will be able to afford more things like going to meetups. Our priorities are saving for the wedding, then the honeymoon, then money to renovate the flat (carpet is frayed, bathroom could use a redo, kitchen needs completely redone, wallpaper could use work and there's a crack in the ceiling of our bedroom).
  4. I have plans to visit Edinburgh. It's a nice sounding place. I might like to live there one day. Only problem is that I fear someone might think I'm trying to emulate you and then I would have to explain look no that's not the case it just seems like a good idea and less predictable than living in England. I wouldn't advertise SE here any more than we need to, the entire site is dedicated to them already. If our news team were any good they would have spotted it I think it popped up in my google alerts at some point but I've been busy trying to avoid stress. I only asked if you needed some assistance because I was ranting about LINUS again this evening. Him and his job-getting thanks to us! I hope you win, it would be absolutely brilliant to see Nobuo live in concert. Baloki did say he's making an effort to call you from every meetup, I feel like you should be included at meetups wherever possible, even if it's only via a drunken voicemail. Those are my speciality.
  5. Why not just come to Edinburgh someday, then? Mwahahaha. Anyways, it's on the SE Europe blog somewhere. I'm hesitant to advertise it in any way because it lowers my chances of winning. I'm a terrible person. ;_; But Nobuo is doing every Distant Worlds BUT the one I'm going to! And he'll be there! I must do whatever I can to win. x_x Sorry though, don't think you can really do anything to help my chances. =/ It's a draw for SE members registered to Europe, and only from four specific countries, too. And Baloki has called me from about five meetups now I think. xD If you need my number at any point, just ask.
  6. I'm far from a millionaire. I cannot afford anything that I actually require like a new car or a place to live so I figured I might as well put it towards something that will spread a little joy. Too many late night drunken conversations with Timekeeper about Utilitarianism. It would be great to win tickets the 25th Anniversary Event. How do you do that? Can I assist in some way? It would be odd for me to consider an EoFF Meetup without you but then again they can always call you. I don't think our calls ever did get through, Baloki tried his best. I might still have your number actually.
  7. I was taking the piss, I don't want handouts from anyone. xD We are working with our budget which is for a pretty pricey wedding. Right now the only thing I might invest in when it comes to travel is a quick trip to London should I actually win some tickets to the SE Europe 25th Anniversary event. Dunno the price of a ticket to Manchester... uhm... let's have a look... okay, cheapest ticket on 5th Jan 2013 (Saturday I think) is an off peak open return ticket for £67.40 (per person). Pricey trout over here, man. Bus is probably much cheaper, but urgh, bus.

EDIT: And again, I won't be taking your handouts. What are you, a millionaire!?

What's the expected cost of this kind of trip (per person)? Also how is the wedding planning going, both financially and otherwise? I could make an investment.
  9. Secrets, always secrets! But you're right. I just hope I'm not going to go up against any major roadblocks.
  10. While true, I'd say it's in it's infancy stages at the moment. =] I wouldn't call it organised until you guys have a fair chunk of posts sorting things out. But can't go further into detail here, it's not the place for it.
