  1. Yeah, I haven't played any Naughty Dog games before. My sister played the Jak and Daxter trilogy, but other than that I haven't seen any of their games. I'll have to take a look at the Uncharted games if I ever get a PS4.

Honestly, I don't really know what sets off my anxiety. Some mornings I just wake up and I feel incredibly anxious. It happens around this time of year mostly, so it might have something to do with the winter weather. And thank you for listening. I appreciate it.

What things didn't you like about XV?
And also, I got the ultimate Master Sword, and I'm currently looking for the first part of the Song of the Hero! It looks like I'm nearing the end. I'll be sad when I finish it!
  2. Thanks. It's another 5+ year old set haha. I'm hoping to get a new one soon.

The Uncharted series is easily one of the best in gaming history. I really think that Naughty Dog is one of the best game developers in the industry right now. You should definitely play all of their games for the PS3/4 if you can.

What sort of things make you depressed or anxious? You can definitely talk to me about anything that's on your mind. I've been through a lot, including depression for years. I can understand what you're going through.

I'm kind of a completionist when it comes to gaming. Haha. I almost always go for 100% completion in every game I play. I hope you enjoy XV; personally I found it to be a disappointment but it does have some good qualities.

I think impatience runs in everyone's family. Mine included.
  3. I like your new sig! It's cool.

I've actually never played any of the Uncharted games. I'm not sure I had ever heard of them before I joined this forum haha. I'm looking forward to the article!

I'm glad you've been getting better! It's a hard thing to overcome, and I actually haven't completely gotten over my anxiety/depression. Once I get a job though, I should feel a lot better. It's just hard getting myself in gear to actually apply for jobs.

Wow, it took you a few days to get 100% on everything in XV? I've never gotten 100% on a game before. I've come close though. Speaking of XV, my sister is going to lend me her Xbox One and her copy of XV so I can play it! I'm so excited!

Well, impatience runs in my family a bit, but I'm slowly trying to get over it and practice being patient.
  4. I was actually working on a review of the Uncharted series. I'm not sure how ambitious I plan to be with the article...most likely it will just be something that gives a general overview of how the series evolved with each entry.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. You have to really fight through it and keep yourself motivated even when your mind doesn't want you to. I've been getting much better at it compared to how I used to be. Trying to keep myself busy as best as I can.

Haha yeah. I generally don't completely rush through a game either. XV I think took me under a week to beat. I got 100% on the game (all trophies) in ten days. I like to focus on one game at a time.

How come you'd consider yourself naturally impatient?
  5. Yes, I am feeling much better now, thank you .

I read your first article! Looks good! Looking forward to your first game review. What game are you going to do first?

It's very true depression does take away your motivation to do anything. That's when you have to be truly determined to not let depression run your life. The more you force yourself to do things, the easier it becomes. This helps me a lot. For me, the worst thing I can do is just sit and do nothing.

Wow! You finish games in a few days?! It's funny, I actually go through games pretty quick for my family. I have a lot to do at home, and I also have siblings who want the TV to play games too, so I can't really play through games that quickly haha.
And thank you, I try to be patient since I have a natural tendency to be impatient.
  6. Glad you were feeling better yesterday, Victoria. I hope that's carried onto today.

I've been okay. Just been looking for part time work and catching up on gaming. I wrote my first article on my blog yesterday, but it's not really anything important. More of just a statement of my goals for 2017 in gaming. :P

You're definitely right that those do help with depression. The problem is that depression takes away a lot of your motivation to cook, to exercise, or to do things you enjoy. So you end up cutting corners or not doing anything, and things just get worse. It's awful.

I find it kind of interesting how you take your time with a game. Usually it takes me a few days or a week tops to beat a new game, since I usually just play it nonstop. Of course with work and other responsibilities it does slow down, but I usually always find time to play. You seem like a very patient woman.
  7. Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been feeling very well myself. I'm feeling a bit better today though.
    How have you been doing?

I have had troubles with anxiety and some depression in the past as well. I find the best thing to do is to stay active. Eating well, getting lots of exercise and doing the things you like to do. That works for me anyway.
The boss in the Fire Sanctuary is sooo frustrating. I had to stop last night before I got really angry. Hopefully I'll beat him today though.
  8. Yeah, that's what I'm looking for now. I don't want to do that kind of work unless I absolutely have to, and there's no other option for me.

I might get a chance to start FF1 this weekend. We'll see.

Well in my case, what usually happens is depression starts to take over and I don't feel like doing anything at all. I've barely played games at all this week. But I have been binge watching a lot of LOST instead, so that's cool. :P I actually thought the Pirate Ship was one of the coolest dungeons from that game.
  9. You're welcome! I hope for your sake that you get a better job and a healthier routine. Hang in there!

That's cool you're committing to playing the FF series in order! Even if it does mean not playing Fire Emblem as much haha.

Yes, it's always good to have multiple hobbies! That way when you're feeling stuck or uninspired by one, you can just go to the next one.
Also, I finished the Pirate Ship dungeon in SS today! That one was a little frustrating, especially with all the electric type monsters. I didn't enjoy this dungeon as much as the last one, but it was still neat. Onto the Silent Realm trial in Eldin Volcano!
  10. Thanks, Victoria. I appreciate that. I think I'll be okay. This job is actually adding to it somewhat, and I intend to quit it. I've realized now what I need to do to get better, so I think I'm going to be all right in the end

I think I will commit to playing FF1 actually. After Uncharted 3, that is. I said I would play through the series and I have to stick to it. Even if that means putting Fire Emblem on hold.

There's no way I would beat you haha. Not until I log 350+ hours just like you did. :P

My schedule for the past week has been work the night shift, come home, relax for a bit, sleep until 6-7pm. Then I answer phone calls and messages and browse a few websites, eat, until I leave for work again at 10pm. It's an unhealthy cycle. I can't keep doing this.

It's really cool that you have so many hobbies. I want to branch out at some point too.
