Fiora is pretty great once you start doing her heart to hearts, but I will agree with NeoCracker that Melia bows out of the love triangle way too easily and her talks with Fiora are a bit... "Mary Sueish" in terms of her lavishing undeserved praise onto Firoa. Its certainly one of the story elements of the game that could have been handled a bit better.
I mean Shulk already has his Monado. Really though I'd feel bad either way. On the one hand, a girl falls in love with a guy while traveling together, opens up to him, and his crush comes back and it all goes down the drain. On the other, they get together and a girl practically comes back from the dead to find out the guy she had feelings for has moved on. It's just sad either way. I like Melia more as a character but I don't really know which couple would be better

Yeah, the game drops the ball on a real good love triangle. It was this element that NeoCracker hated, especially since he was firmly in Camp Melia.
I saw what you meant about Riki when he said he was tired and they needed a break because Melia wouldn't admit it. I also feel super bad for Melia because now that you know who is back it's like "Melia who?"
No one special, he's just smarter and a bit more serious than he lets on.
