  1. Agreed. 12 bucks? Get outta town!
  2. It's a fear thing. I mean, I might never have been homeless like some people I know but we weren't real wealthy and money had always been something to be conservative with. Generally my growling stomach makes me forget money momentarily but the other day I just said hell no to twelve bucks for a damn snack. The uni cafes are a joke. Want my cheap greasy brasserie back man :-(
  3. And I thought I was thrifty!
  4. I hate spending money. At all. Ever. I feel like I should hoard it all until I am infinitely rich and then when I'm just about to die I can buy everything. Even buying lunch makes me agitated :/
  5. Yikes, I wouldn't want to go through that. I get agitated when I have a car repair that cost a couple hundred bucks!
  6. Yeah I don't think it's every day that you get perfect weather at day and perfect snowfalls at night, especially not for a week. Skiing is fun, but it smurfing hurts so much. I think hanging out in the lodge is pretty fun too. Except if you're my buddy Jake and get swine flu the first day we're on the snow and end up opening a door with your face when you collapse and then get quarantined and generally hate your use of a cool $1500
  7. My father and other relatives would appreciate that story far more than me. A good chunk of my father's side used to ski ALLLLLLLLL the time. I am not much of a skier, but I can appreciate the conditions you described.
  8. We were on the snow for about five days as I recall. Leading into the ski season it looked set to be an absolute failure; low snowfall and just generally rubbish weather. Well the week before we arrived, it snowed like you would not believe. Absolutely dumped on this resort, creating perfect slopes and everything was looking much more positive. We arrive and the weather is bright and warm, absolutely smurfing fantastic weather. Ski all day, then at dusk head back into the lodge for roll marking and dinner and trout. Well that night it snowed again, giving us some nice fresh powder to play with on day 2. Wake up to crisp, perfect weather again. Rinse and repeat the entire time. I think it snowed while we were out and about once for about three minutes (coincidentally while being told that Tom Cruise had allegedly shown up via helicopter) and then that was it. Jesus loved me that week, man.
  9. That sounds incredible. I might have to take a trip out there some day.
  10. Yeah the entire state is so high above sea level that you actually feel closer to the sky. It's smurfing weird man, but it is kind of magical. When I went on my school ski trip a couple years ago, our lodge and part of the mountain seemed above the clouds. It made me so excited, I felt like a god.
