I cannot live with this "out of place" thing, especially considering KH simply was supposed to be such a mish-mash. It is not like the Final Fantasy characters did not contribute anything at all. Without Squall, Aerith and Yuffie the whole beginning of Sora's arc is rendered void. Without them contributing to the whole Radiant Garden scenario everything falls apart. Cloud and Sephiroth were a great parallel to other characters that co-related to each other and the overall light and dark-story even though in KHII Cloud and Sephiroth basically were just supposed to re-tell Sephiroth's On the Way to a Smile-ability of how his existence is linked to Cloud, just with "I am your darkness" when translated into Kingdom Hearts. As a matter of fact, the Disney/Pixar worlds in KHIII feel so much more useless so I cannot really see how FF is not supposed to keep its place. Hayner, Pence and Olette are from Itadaki Street but are part of KH nonetheless. Why not just keep the factor that together with Disney was the allure in the first place and just integrate a bit more in the story if it might seem not relevant for some people. The inclusion of most worlds in KHIII was laughable in comparison.
I'm not too bothered by the lack of FF presence. They always felt out of place after the first game to me. I guess it helps me that they had kind of been phasing them out in the between years. I mean BbS only had Zack and 358/2 didn't have anyone. 3D had TWEWY but no actual FF characters. Come to think of it, it did seem like they were going to do something with Zack based on his ending in BbS but I guess that won't be happening in KHIII if ever. Sucks about the "only English" debacle. I was reading some fan comments talking about how strange it was that KHIII wasn't going to offer more voice options. It sucks jumping into a series you know better from another language. Hell they did the same thing to me with the Persona 3 films, it never got translated and I'm far more familiar with the English cast than the Japanese one, so it was always a bit weird expecting one voice and getting another instead.
I am more disappointed about the Final Fantasy content. Cloud was the reason I bought KHI in the first place. Also KHII's ending more or less teased Rinoa when Squall read a letter that made him smile and all. Also I grew up with German voices and now they are gone. KHI German, KHIÍ German, KHIII English. It feels incomplete.

No, you cannot. Maybe there is some unlockable random mode like in 358/2 Days where you could use each of the 14 Organization members to do random stuff but I only know the main story so far.
Well that explains how you got through it so fast. Not sure if I ever played a game for that long. The inconsistencies sounds like a drag, but honestly, I felt they had kind of been doing that since KH2 with a few things here and there. Not sure if KHIII will clear up those problems before making new ones, but alas, we'll just have to see for future installments. I guess the only question I have is whether Roxas is playable or not. I don't need to know about anyone else, just a simple yes or no would do please, and thank you.
I sat on it for 25h the first day. After a sleeping break I sat on it for another 9 hours. And those were over about an 1 hour ago. So yes, I did definitely enjoy it. It is too bad they are so inconsistent with certain causality things and the terminology when it comes to the lore of the franchise. Now it is really inaccurate and what people always claimed that it was which I always could explain with certain other scenes that were not acknowledged. Seeing how much went down in the final hours I guess they got too busy trying to solve as much as possible and then did no longer care about it being smaller plotholes so it ultimately resulted in big inconsistencies.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm probably going to wait a while before I get to it. Of anything I'm due for a replay of the series proper to get me caught up.
Just done with Kingdom Hearts III. It was an incredible experience and worth the 13 years of wait. But it has so many plotholes/inconsistencies right when the finale starts.
