  1. That's a pretty awesome 8-bit cover.
  2. On the topic of music, have you seen this btw? ^^

  3. Limitations force people to think and make tough choices which is why I stuck to it. Besides any higher and people would probably only skim responses at best.
  4. Yeah 10 is a pretty harsh number which I couldn't really stick to myself *cough* so much great music in games.
  5. That's cool. I usually wait awhile before tackling the extra endings anyway to avoid fatigue as well.

I've been spending most of my time trying to come up with my OST list for the 10 best VGM thread. Lot of great music over the years.
  6. Haven't continued playing yet, in part because it is a bit fatiguing going through the same tasks (and the same final boss fight) repeatedly and tbh I'm not looking forward to doing the prehistoric parts again, but also cause I've both started Celceta now and I'm still regularly working on my Warcraft III map as well. It's supposed to be a Final Fantasy based RPG map, but I guess I'm now kinda tying elements from all different kinds of RPGs into it, but it's pretty fun.
  7. Good to learn I'm not crazy.

    How's the Chrono NG+ going?
  8. Well it's had a rocky history dating all the way back to the 80s. Ys I and II are essentially two halves of one game, then there's Ys III: Wanderers of Ys, several games that are all Ys IV (it's a mess), and the elusive Ys V. Then the series died for 8 years until it eventually returned with Ys VI: Ark of Naphistim, as well as Ys Origins (a prequel, essentially Ys 0) and several updated remakes of the earlier games: Ys Chronicles (remake of I + II), Ys: The Oath in Felghana (remake of III) and Ys: Memories of Celceta (remake of IV). Ys Seven also came out around this time. Finally, there's been Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, and later this year (and presumably localized next year) there will be Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Hopefully Ys V will also have a remake localized at some point (it got one on the PS2), it's the one game in the series that never made it overseas, and I don't know much about it myself.

So given the number of remakes, there's really only 8 major games to play through, 7 if you discount Ys V for the time being.

Edit: Should also mention that most Ys games have been ported to Steam by now, making them pretty nicely accessible.
  9. How many games are in the Ys series by this point? I mean, I'm pretty sure it was around when I was a kid and that was some time ago.
  10. Well before that I do have some more Ys games - next up Ys: Memories of Celceta - on my list of games to play ^^ but I'll get to it eventually.
