Conversation Between kikimm and Meat Puppet

  1. Yeah, I don’t get that. I guess it gives me a monochromatic view or taste of music... on the plus side, it means I get really in to the bands that I like. On the downside it annoys my friends.
  2. Yeah. I don’t get that very often. Some people get it with just about every band or musician they like. Then again, some get it less than I do.
  3. Heh yeah my aunt had some and they always scared the crap out of me. Do you like dalmations? I hate dalmations.
  4. Well, it was actually as recently as last year. 2005? Yes. I was watching VH1—Top Videos of the 90s or something—and Beck was on (Loser). When I first saw the name, it rang a bell, because there was a sample of a Beck song that came packaged with Windows Media Player or Winamp or something. On my dad’s computer. But that was back in 2001, and I was too lazy to open it. Back in 2005. At first I was like... what the smurf? For some reason I hated him and thought he was trying too hard. I left without thinking too much about it. The second time I saw the video (Loser) I thought, man, this guy really is better than I thought he was. Maybe I was wrong? I left that. Didn’t want to pursue it any further. The third time it was like, 4 AM and I was on the sofa and on came Loser. I finally said smurf it, I have got to check this guy out. Is he still alive? Is he still making music? I almost stayed on the sofa. But something pulled me downstairs onto the internet. I searched for some songs and downloaded Girl. I liked it too much. I had to. DO SOMETHING I could not do it anymore. I decided to read up on Beck and quench these curiosities. The next day I walked several kilometers (metric again sorry) to the record store to buy Mellow Gold. Only Mellow Gold, I promised. No more. But then I found myself at the store again a few or two later, and I bought Mutations. I went home and listened to it. You were online, and I left you a user note saying that Mutations is a good album. Next came Sea Change. Then Midnite Vultures. Guero took me a while to get but DAMN it was worth the hard work. Odelay is the only one I bought second-hand. Then The Information.

    Oh boy.

Sorry about the way that is written, by the way. Just... too lazy to format.
  5. Haha yeah same here. Plus, dogs make me more sick than cats. But SHE would never protect me if a bad person came into the house. And I think huskies and german shepherds are gorgeous and I want one. Sometimes I like that they want so much attention. Other times I bet it'd bug me a lot.
  6. Now there’s a hard question. Hmm. My preferred definitely depends on the mood I am in, possibly more so than any other musician or band. Like, if I am in a Sea Change kind of mood, I have to listen to Sea Change, I can sort of listen to Mutations, and there is no way I can listen to Midnite Vultures. But moods change. So I do not have a static favorite Beck album.
  7. Should I pretend to be blind, or not?
  8. And everything. No The Information would be bad. Not that people would know what it’s like because they never knew but definitely a better place with The Information than without it!
  9. If only I could utilize them
  10. I. Yeah. It’s too bad I only found out about him after he was dead! Gee... I seem to do that with so many people. Not Beck, though. Thankfully not Beck.
