Well, it was actually as recently as last year. 2005? Yes. I was watching VH1—Top Videos of the 90s or something—and Beck was on (Loser). When I first saw the name, it rang a bell, because there was a sample of a Beck song that came packaged with Windows Media Player or Winamp or something. On my dad’s computer. But that was back in 2001, and I was too lazy to open it. Back in 2005. At first I was like... what the smurf? For some reason I hated him and thought he was trying too hard. I left without thinking too much about it. The second time I saw the video (Loser) I thought, man, this guy really is better than I thought he was. Maybe I was wrong? I left that. Didn’t want to pursue it any further. The third time it was like, 4 AM and I was on the sofa and on came Loser. I finally said smurf it, I have got to check this guy out. Is he still alive? Is he still making music? I almost stayed on the sofa. But something pulled me downstairs onto the internet. I searched for some songs and downloaded Girl. I liked it too much. I had to. DO SOMETHING I could not do it anymore. I decided to read up on Beck and quench these curiosities. The next day I walked several kilometers (metric again sorry) to the record store to buy Mellow Gold. Only Mellow Gold, I promised. No more. But then I found myself at the store again a few or two later, and I bought Mutations. I went home and listened to it. You were online, and I left you a user note saying that Mutations is a good album. Next came Sea Change. Then Midnite Vultures. Guero took me a while to get but DAMN it was worth the hard work. Odelay is the only one I bought second-hand. Then The Information.
Oh boy.
Sorry about the way that is written, by the way. Just... too lazy to format.
